“I’m worried about my community… I’m out here in a frog costume to show how ridiculous the notion that we’re violent terrorists is, and showcase how that narrative is wrong…”

Serious Q: is it too late to give this dude the Nobel Peace Prize? 🐸 🏆

On 9/30, Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker said “Patrice, I still have your casket”. On the 10/6 episode of the 817 Podcast, Patrice Jones laid out what it was about and why it was so 😱

🔥 “White women tears have ended civilizations” 🔥

When will the Fort Worth Mayor apologize?

The Johnson County Sheriff and his deputies hunted a woman in need of abortion care and safety from an abusive relationship.

The Sheriff, Adam King, is himself facing sexual harassment, retaliation, and perjury charges.

I’ll link an article about it in a thread below.

GREAT NEWS from Leander ISD. To Kill a Mockingbird, House on Mango St, and Narrative of Life of Frederick Douglass will be returned to classrooms after a massive outcry. Thanks to everyone who spoke up!!!

From an email to teachers today:
*An important update regarding the books that
were previously paused from curriculum use as a
result of concerns around Senate Bill 12.
Thirty-six of the forty books are being reinstated
to the secondary curriculum book list, with
revisions made to the curriculum to ensure TEKS
alignment and compliance with SB 12. Four
titles, Stamped, Melissa (George), Gracefully
Grayson, and The 57 Bus, will remain paused for
additional review of curriculum alignment. Please
note that all books, including these four, should
remain available, or be returned if removed, to
classroom libraries for individual student choice
reading.

Everyone who said “it’s just abt the economy”, played ball with Republicans trying to find “common ground”, didn’t draw a deep line in the sand, and didn’t recognize the hard-line Christian nationalism…have f’d the country. Project 2025 will demolish us.

SOUTH CAROLINA… “Judge Goodstein was walking on the beach when the fire started. Her husband, Arnie, was in the house with children and perhaps grandchildren. The family had to escape by jumping from a window or balcony...” www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...

In Israel, families get monthly child allowances and a birth grant. Healthcare is universal, and college is subsidized.

And yet America is sending Israel $billions to help fund a genocide, while people here go bankrupt over healthcare costs and can’t afford kids or college.

The obscene face of Christian Nationalism: outlandish untaxed wealth in defiance of Jesus. Oh, and this time, slave laborers, too! Glory!

Just remember, for any money you give to Heaven, there is always a 100% handling fee here on Earth.

Patrice Jones spoke to the Fort Worth City Council and got under Mayor Mattie Parker’s seemingly very thin skin. The ask was simple. Keep public comments. It’s a place any citizen can come and address the full council. We need more of it, not less.

There are some on the Fort Worth City Council who value input from the public, and others who are very willing to limit the channels, forcing the public into off the record spaces.

At City Council on 9/30, 7 voted to reduce the number of public comment meetings in 2026.

There are leaders in Fort Worth city government who don’t want to hear from the people they purport to represent.

As our voices are rising, they want to shut them down. EJ Carrion called them out on it. 🔥🔥

Extremism is being enabled in Fort Worth. Mayor Mattie Parker, with both her silence and those moments she chooses to speak, is allowing it to happen.

📕📕 Alex Montalvo spoke at City Council on 9/23. “We are in one of those moments in the history books right now.” What will you do? 📚📚

🗣️🗣️ Part two of two of Voices of Fort Worth speaking up for their city 🗣️🗣️

Everyday citizens of Fort Worth came to City Council on 9/23. They let all of the members, but especially the Mayor, know that we expect our leaders to stand against extremism. If they don’t, we will work to replace them.
