Also having to watch newscasters decide if and how to say “grab snatch” in real time is a trip
DOJ briefly uploaded this letter from Jeff Epstein to serial child molester Larry Nassar:

"Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to 'grab snatch,' whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system."

I have a cold and I do not enjoy it. The cats, however, are ABSOLUTELY enjoying it because I’m not moving much and thus am good snuggles

I have a complicated relationship with my parents as an adult but when I was a tiny child they let me name our goldfish Jacob Marley so in some ways I recognize myself as their daughter

I’ve been expecting this since they forced users (like me and other creatives especially) with public followers to convert their personal profiles to “professional mode”

My friend checked out his grade school history book from the library and took this photo. This is how slavery was taught in Virginia elementary schools for two decades. Two. Decades! (History of Virginia - A Fourth Grade Textbook)

I read this piece and I still don’t understand. The problem isn’t “no one has new ideas,” the problem is late-stage capitalism filters out risk

America, you have spoken loud and clear: You do not like AI. But what if AI is the way to restart the world’s idea machine?
We’re running out of good ideas. AI might be how we find new ones.
What if the best use of AI is restarting the world’s idea machine?

the faux-AI evangelists see the artistic process as a race to get to a finished product, instead of something valuable in itself. the process is where you develop those skills you don't have yet, it cannot be skipped, it is where the art happens
I have grown to believe that excessive wealth does something to your brain that is analogous to a serious head injury

the robot trying to steal my job isn’t even good at it! it consumes like 1000 gallons of water to make a 6 minute podcast that’s aggressively wrong more than half time! i can make a much longer podcast using way less water. i don’t even shower on days that i’m writing.
New: When the Washington Post ran tests on its AI personalized podcasts, the paper found that between 68% and 84% (!!) of the pods had potential issues.

Still, the paper decided to release the product anyway, saying it would “iterate through the remaining issues”
