no, the point of using dried beans over canned is financial. Dried beans are way cheaper, easier to store, and easier to keep in bulk. There's no real extra time or effort involved since we could easily just throw them in the pressure cooker if we wanted to avoid soaking.

I hope that somehow in 100 years an 11-year old will be writing an essay about 21st century theocracies and will pull this post as an example of how people still had to deal with farts, even under a fascist regime gunning them down in the streets
we made chili with dried kidney beans tonight. the package said an overnight soak followed by an all day slow cook simmer is fine. internet search results say we will die without boiling them ahead of time. It would be so cool if there were just, like, a way to easily get accurate information
