Intriguing new paper by @mflangelier.bsky.social in the Pascal lab showing that PARP1 can generate free poly-ADP-ribose (PAR) (not attached to proteins) in vitro and in cells. In some cases PAR is attached to NAD+! #PARP #ADP-ribosylation #NAD+
