A decade of BGC-Argo and plankton records shows North Pacific heatwaves reshape food webs and trap small particles in midwater, slowing deep-ocean carbon export. Impacts vary by event, underscoring the need for sustained ocean monitoring. @mbarinews.bsky.social @miamirosenstiel.bsky.social

A 1st of-its-kind International coral restoration effort, scientists outplanted baby Elkhorn corals made from #Honduras and #Florida Elkhorn parents to repopulate Florida’s Coral Reef.🪸 in collab with The Florida Aquarium, Coral Reef Futures Lab and Tela Marine. #coralreefs
At the University of Miami's NOAA Cooperative institute for Marine and Atmospheric Studies based at the Rosenstiel School, hurricane research is making great strides to improve forecast accuracy which ultimately saves lives and property.

Scientists @davenolan305.bsky.social, GATS, Inc., Embry-Riddle University & @ncar-ucar.bsky.social kicked off CGWaveS campaign (Convective Gravity Waves in the Stratosphere) to study how gravity waves influence the atmosphere. The aim is to improve weather and climate forecasts. Supported by NSF.
