I like baseball and I write about it for MLB.com. Special focus on the World Baseball Classic, culture, and freaky little oddities. I also like rock n roll.

66,000 words, thousands of miles traveled, and hundreds of hours at my desk later, my manuscript on Baseball Czech is complete!

It’s now in the hands of @univnebpress.bsky.social for the next round of work and edits. Hopefully next time you see this, there will be a cover and pre-order link!
Tatsuya Imai brought the "I come to bury Ohtani, not to praise him," vibes in an interview with Daisuke Matsuzaka last night.

I never was a Panera person, but I enjoyed the fact that they actually baked their breads on premises.

Once they stopped doing that, what was even the point
Once the top U.S. fast-casual chain, Panera has dipped to number three, falling behind Chipotle and Panda Express.

Now, to try to win back consumers, the chain plans to reinvest in the business and undo many previously implemented cost-cutting measures, it said Tuesday.

UNREAL. Kim Ju-Won hits a bottom of the ninth, two out game-tying home run to center field and Korea finishes this game with a 7-7 tie. Remarkable ballgame played like it was the WBC final instead of a meaningless exhibition.
November 16, 2025 at 1:43 PM
Keep an eye on Hyun-min Ahn! The dude is JACKED and he goes deep for the second straight day to cut the lead to one.

Coming off a season where the 21 year old hit .334 with 22 home runs and Ryu has confirmed he's the team's No. 2 batter. Definitely a player to watch for the future.
November 16, 2025 at 1:24 PM
For all the good in this game from Korea, the pitching is still such a big concern. Bae Chan-seung walks in a run, the third time today that a pitcher for Korea has done that.

The arms are young, but not sure how Ryu could have confidence come March.
November 16, 2025 at 1:16 PM
We've got one HELL of a ballgame brewing here! Korea has the tying run thrown out at home as the Naver broadcasters go absolutely WILD. You could be forgiven for thinking this is a World Series Game 7, WBC final for the passion.

Great November baseball. 6-5 Japan.
