Those boxes had 10 of each model? Even as a kid I recognised it wasn’t a very efficient way to build an army.

It’s very flexible. Gets some dusty models out of the back of the cupboard. You may have fondness for the minis and the fluff, but not the rules…

Yes. But if basing or figure height changes through the collection you have fewer options to accommodate it. Great British firm with excellent customer service.

RUBS are a very good solution. But! It's difficult to stack different sizes as -say- two smaller ones don't map to a larger one. And there are very few heights within each subset. Last year I made the switch to Eurocrates - which are more standardised and have 5-6 height options for each footprint.

I quite like them. A gamer needs to accept that the rules are scaffolding on which you build the period flavour with options/choices etc. Without that it can feel quite generic. Good for multi player/big games. Also see Valour and Fortitude from the Perry website as a freebie.
