Gamer/Academic in Glasgow. Professionally interested in relationships, networks and dev and marketing of Apps. Personally interested in all forms of gaming (especially toy soldiers) as well as history and E-biking. I hope to post positive things.
One that is absolutely ripe for this treatment is The League of Gentlemen. US GWOT veterans instead. Pick flawed films and have another go, rather than trying to redo a classic...

I can't remember, can light troops pass through heavies? If not, that would be an improvement IMV.

That could work, but then you are changing the game a lot to give units a facing. With the Nap one being brigades it matters a lot less there.

I prefer the Nap version to the others - ancients/med doesn't really take into account battle lines/unit facings. So no benefit for getting onto a flank for example.

There is one in Glasgow that is part of an ex-Servicemen's charity. Quite well attended on a Wednesday. Premises on a small industrial estate, which isn't fabulously accessible alas.

Wargames Illustrated has a document which is very good in respect of supporting submitting authors - scope, scale, content, word count advice etc. Available via the WI webbie.

I mean, I didn’t dislike those two shows, but this was my favourite. B7 second.

I always preferred this over Dr Who/Blake's Seven.

Looks good.

Civ IV for me. To the extent I bought a Steam Deck when it stopped working on my Mac.

There is a point at which tolerating stupidity becomes dangerous.

I’ve had a copy of FITL since it was released. It’s organising the people and the time to play that’s the issue. And the number of other options.

I want to get to grips with this game, but I've never had the opportunity.
