Just back from a wonderful visit to New York. We visited the Tenement Museum, went to the Hamilton broadway show, J.P. Morgan Library (picture), Central Park, Neue Gallerie, Brooklyn Bridge, Dumbo and SoHo. What a great city.

In Ireland no party has a majority - so after the election some parties come together and agree a program for government - a compromise between what the individual parties wanted - this evening the members of my party are gathering to discuss it before it is approved

Let’s hope the EU gets its defence act together. Mind you, I live in Ireland and am one of a tiny minority who believes we should give up our neutrality and join NATO or an EU alliance.

It was unusually cold in Ireland, with lots of black ice. We parked our car on the driveway of a family member - only for it to slide down by itself and get wedged between the entrance pillars 😩 It took a creative tow truck driver to dislodge it!
