Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 555:
Don't use descriptions of weather as backdrop or set dressing. Write how it affects the way your characters interact with their world: how it changes their clothes, their behaviour, their mood, their perception of sounds, colours, light. Make it count.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 430: Read. Read widely. Read what you love, and what you don't. Read what you know, and what you don't yet know. The wider your reading, the better your chance of avoiding the limitations of being influenced by only one author, one genre, one culture, one time.

Very happy to introduce Miss Josephine Fairfax and Lord Alistair Huntingly! 📚💫
I’ve just returned copy-edits for The Proposition of the Season, aka Jospehine’s story, and used this new moodboard a lot while drafting and editing. It captures Jo’s world…
