Has anyone pinpointed the moment when Jeff Bezos went from benevolent owner to dismantling the WP?

I can’t believe this is P&L related. As others have noted, he could Venmo the money needed to run the paper, and not miss it.

Not the pitcher on whom I would have spent money.
As @jeffpassanbot.bsky.social and @feinsand.bsky.social have reported, Tigers are in agreement on a 3-yr, $115 deal with Framber Valdez pending physical, per sources. Tigers moved aggressively once Valdez pivoted towards a short-term, high-AAV contract. Detroit's rotation is stacked for 2026.

But Bezos had $75 million to spend on Melania’s vanity project.

The irony, among many sad ones today, is that Posties were some of the highest paid people in daily journalism. They generally made much more than NYT staff, and people sometimes jumped there for raises.

Jeff Bezos has enough spare change under the seat cushions of his rocket to keep this newspaper afloat. Can't he just pretend that the Washington Post is, like, a $75 million vanity documentary

Hoping that @nprfreshair.bsky.social will post today’s interview with David Gelles. An excellent discussion of how the WH has wrecked environmental policy.

Serious question: what gives ICE law enforcement power outside its actual authority? It seems like grounds to challenge them in court and take it all the way to SCOTUS.
The StarTribune live blog is paywall free:
- The man shot by federal agents this morning has died
- Several witnesses have already been transported to the Whipple building.
- ICE attempted to order local police from the scene, but O’Hara refused, sources said.

I know people see his Truth Social posts as performance art. But for better or worse, they serve as a record of this administration. I suspect at some point, they’ll be deleted since they show his progression. So, save them.
