An unexpected addition to the garden list in Bewdley this morning, when this FIRECREST popped out in a neighbours holly just as I was contemplating giving up on a quiet VigMig session. It spent about 10 minutes in the gardens, but hasn't reappeared. #WorcsBirds

The stars aligned this evening at #Grimley. And all six of the 'Heron Like' birds. Cattle, GW and Little Egrets throughout, Grey Herons, Glossy Ibis flying in at 19:05 and the Bittern flying to roost at 19:22. Fantastic! Ringed Plover and 5 Common Gull #WorcsBirds

Hard to believe that you would see six 'Heron like' species at #Grimley in 12 hours just a few years ago. Glossy Ibis, Cattle Egret, GWE, Little Egret (8), Grey Heron (4) last night 24/9 and Bittern this morning 25/9. #WorcsBirds

Love watching Hawthorn, Elder and Bramble scrub at this time of year. A pre work walk around #SwanbrookValley gave a decent 'drop' of Warblers: 10 Whitethroat, 10 Chiffchaff, 8 Blackcap, 2 Garden Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, Willow Warbler and a Tree Pipit! #WestMidsBirds

The Worcester & Malvern RSPB group is supporting and campaigning for this appeal.
Two RSPB group members have each pledged up to £20,000 (10k each) of match funding. So every pound you give will be doubled.

Longdon Marsh is so vitally important in Worcs, holding nationally important numbers of ducks during flood events. HCF has highlighted how important the area is year round now a natural habitat has been resored. How fantastic it would be to see it return back to what it naturally wants to be!
The fields opposite Hill Court Farm entrance where the Snow Bunting was discovered earlier this year now up for grabs! Would make fabulous roadside wetland scapes! Please donate if you can. Protecting Worcestershire’s Wetland Wildlife #worcsbirds www.worcswildlifetrust.co.uk/appeals/prot...

This Curlew was an unusual 'on the deck' bird at Grimley, possibly the first grounded one I've ever seen here. 71 Lapwing and a Redshank also roosting on the shoreline. Water levels dropping, Cattle chomping down the vegetation and wader numbers building. Fantastic! #WorcsBirds

Here is red C=X in 2023, a month of so after we had ringed it paddling around here in Worcester. Really highlights the importance of davic ringing to track individuals to study dispersal+survival. A little jelous it's spent the meantime enjoying coastal Spain! #WorcsBirds
