I don’t get the argument that employment law stops businesses employing people. You don’t not employ someone to do a job that needs doing just because you might have to follow a procedure to dismiss them if they can’t do the job.

I remember Pep Guardiola going up to Redmond after City had just beaten Southampton and putting his arm around him and congratulating him on the way he played. Also remember Pep doing exactly the same to Barry Bannan. Experience and pace is just what we need at the moment. Hopefully a good buy.

Even after the mansion tax is applied, the owner of a £5m home in Westminster will pay proportionately less in property tax than the owner of a £210k Band B property in Sunderland.

Pity the poor people in £2m houses. They will now have to stop the avocados and lattes.

Dear England, stop acting like a knobhead, be a proper country, grow up! You have everything you want and yet you overcomplicate everything so people become confused and thus compliant! It's not how it should be.

In what part of Masons journalist training did it say it was a good technique to continually try and interrupt when someone is trying to answer a question. Is the interview for our benefit or his ? He really is the worst.

It’s traditional for Liverpool not to sack managers but … ?

Another Millwall break starting with another sloppy pass from McNeill. My jury of one is coming to a decision #swfc

Limited options I know but Valery is not a midfielder #swfc

Bannan seems to be playing ahead of Ingellson on the left tonight. #swfc

No Ugbo in the squad tonight. Probably good management to take him out of the firing line for a bit. McNeill really needs to step up and show he is up to the task. This jury of one is out on that at the moment. #swfc

The Andrews children will
representing the family at the Den tonight. They should probably report me to Childline for inflicting #swfc on them.

The front page of today's Daily Mail refers to the 2025/26 budget as the one "we've all been dreading".

Remind me, how did they respond to the one where Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng fucked the country's finances sideways..? 🤨

There is no way Farage will apologise to his old classmates as that would be just too woke.

I've checked and Robbie voted in favour at every stage of the Public Order Act 2023 passage through parliament.

Maybe he didn't read it.

Maybe he thought it wouldn't apply to farmers.

What will the BBC ‘journalists’ do if this Budget doesn’t unravel, markets stay calm and Lab MPs are smiling?Perhaps they will have to go back to seeing if Starmer is at the Emirates or if Reeves looks distressed. To make it worse for them there have been no small boat crossings for the last 7 days
November 26, 2025 at 4:43 PM
All in all not too bad a budget to me. I will be paying more tax but then I guess at my age I’ll be using more public services in the not too distant future so that’s fair.

Just like Farage when he was not even an MP it seems that Polanski is already getting under the skin of Ministers if the CoE feels the need to refer to him in a Budget speech. He must be quite pleased to be given the publicity.

Why are so called ‘business owners’ always bleating about having to pay their workers more. If they can’t afford to pay their staff a decent wage then perhaps their business is not that great and perhaps they are not very good business people. Just a thought.

Good news that the multi million pound second homes that stand empty all year round will now be subjected to Council Tax surcharge.

I think at this point if you're including Diane Abbott - a woman who has never held government office, has been a backbencher since 2020, and is scarcely a government ally - on your list of political wrongdoers, we all know exactly what your real concerns are

If we can’t trust the OBR not to cock up on an age old convention how can we trust them not to cock up their projections ? How can we be sure they weren’t briefing the Budget to others before leaking the info. this morning?
