What an amazing kickoff! Thank you to everyone who came out to support this campaign and help launch our work to fix RTD. Big thanks to our speakers, including @mdoughertyco.bsky.social and @chrisfnicholson.com, for your support!

Together we can build an RTD that works for everyone.

Big News: @atucomms.bsky.social Local 1001, the union representing thousands of the workers who keep our buses and trains moving, has endorsed our campaign for RTD!

Their support means a lot to me as a former labor organizer, and shows our unions believe in my visions of an RTD for everyone.

This might actually be a good thing… “light trucks” are incentivized by our tax code and they kill tons of pedestrians.

The return of smaller cars would be good
my life is that I record a podcast episode all about tariffs and leave the booth just to find out there are more tariffs

The problem with Rumble, Gab, Mastodon, and now Bluesky is that when you define yourself by opposing a useful—if flawed—tool’s misuse, you end up with a no-true-Scotsman purity culture that regular users find deeply off-putting.

Push back, and you lose the loyal purity-testing ones too.

If only we had a super competent Latina who is term limited in the state senate and would do an amazing job replacing one of the no votes…

Jk…. Unless?

How many churches, schools, hospitals, daycares, restaurants, shelters, food banks, and homes have to be destroyed?

Does killing the poor, the sick, the elderly, the young, the religious leaders, the air workers, the journalists, the refugees, and civilians get us any closer to peace?

In government, cooperation is key to achieving a better future. With transportation already under attack by this administration, we don't need people like Trump harassing RTD staff and making progress harder.

Thank you to Chair Bouquet for focusing on progress with this move!

If you voted for Trump or didn’t vote because “both parties are the same”

You’re an idiot.

Colorado faces a shortage of affordable, diverse housing options. Our new blog looks to Portland, Oregon, for lessons on how middle housing reforms can help fix that🏘️

We need more housing so our grandparents can stay in our communities as they age!

"Today’s affordability crisis can be traced to a number of factors, including . . . the Great Recession, rising construction costs and restrictive zoning policies that make it hard to build large numbers of units."

This is actually a very good sign. Dems willing to loudly fight for our values are much more useful to the party than Dems (like our governor) who put up only tepid private hesitance while trying to placate the President's irrational whims.

T minus two years from Zohran either being the next AOC and having the Abundance libs endorsing him for gov while DSA un-endorses him or Brandon Johston and the next mayor be Curtis Silwa

I realized I could make more impact on more lives by getting this done locally than nationally.

Showing up is 9/10s of the game in local politics.

Now, if you live in Colorado, odds are your city council is mad at my housing work.
What got you involved in local politics?

This app man. I need bluesky posters to stop being HOA presidents.

If you want regular people to agree with you, do not criticize the way they are agreeing with you because it is insufficiently aligned with the "proper" language.

This app is fun because it's like opening a 2020 time capsule

Gov. Polis is telling communities that if they don’t want to play ball, they don’t get money from the state for other priorities.

Voters are worried about the housing crisis, and the communities that don’t think it’s worth fixing don’t need our money then.

Thank you @govofco.bsky.social !

Another win for @yimbydenver.bsky.social!

We are making huge progress on our effort to legalize housing here in Colorado!
May 14, 2025 at 5:20 PM
One of the things I worry about is that small towns often feel bullied by cities and complain that no one wants to move to them, or complain about under service (food- healthcare- legal-deserts) but they consistently fail to fund schools and other essential services.

What's the end game of this?
May 7, 2025 at 9:20 PM
Yeah, this shouldn't be surprising. Coloradans are facing enough pressure from rising costs in all areas, a 1% fee on their insurance to make big business happy isn't a solution.

Good on the state leg here.

This really remarkable reporting and I’m so incredibly proud of the staff who are speaking up for others and hopefully preventing this form happening again.

We cannot allow this behavior to unchallenged, voters and staff deserve better.
