Proud to have secured $375,000 in federal funds to purchase a truck and kickstart Yolo Food Bank’s mobile pantry program to bring fresh, locally sourced food to our community members.

Grateful to join our neighbors, local leaders, and the Sonoma Valley Visitors Bureau for their annual lighting ceremony. It’s always a joy to welcome in the festive season while we celebrate our community and support small businesses. Happy holidays, Sonoma!

Proud to have helped NVTA secure a $6.8 million federal grant to purchase six new hybrid-electric buses for our Vine Transit system. With these new buses, NVTA will both improve rider experience and reduce emissions. It’s a win-win for Napa residents and our planet.

Yountville’s annual lighting ceremony showcased everything that makes our community special: the Chamber of Commerce and Town bringing neighbors together, the Boys & Girls Club of Napa Valley collecting toys for families in need, and the Napa High Vocal Music Workshop filling the air with music.

Thanksgiving is about coming together, but rising prices are making that harder for too many families. I’m writing legislation to lower costs and make sure everyone can afford a full table this year.

Too many people are being priced out of home and fire insurance, and some can’t get coverage at all. I’m working to pass a bipartisan bill to make insurance more affordable and accessible and provide opportunities to enhance wildfire resiliency to make all our communities safer. This is common sense

We need to ensure everyone has access to health care. That’s why I introduced a bill to make telehealth coverage permanent across America. Telemedicine should be available to everyone. It saves lives and saves money!

I had the most significant legislation addressing climate change signed into law, and the Big Ugly Bill repealed much of it.

Three years ago today, a shooter murdered 6 employees at a Walmart in Chesapeake, Virginia. Today, we remember them, hold their community close, and recommit to action to pass sensible policies to keep our communities safe.

This is bad for our environment and won't lower costs for drivers. I wrote the state law on cleaning up oil spills when I served in the California State Senate and I know firsthand that this is a terrible idea.
Trump’s offshore drilling plan blasted by California politicians
President Donald Trump’s order for new oil drilling off California and Florida drew quick pushback from state leaders, who said it would benefit only petroleum companies: “Our coast is not for...

Proud to join House and Senate Democrats to introduce the Restoring Food Security for American Families and Farmers Act. Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill made the largest cut to SNAP in American history, taking food away from millions of children, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities.

This administration is making it harder to become a nurse at a time when we have a nursing shortage. This is unacceptable and I'll fight to reverse this decision.

Nursing is no longer counted as a 'professional degree' by Trump admin
The Department of Education has excluded nursing as a "professional degree" program as it implements various changes to student loans.

A big win for America’s seniors: after strong pushback from myself and my fellow Democrats, the Trump Administration has backed off its plan to cut disability benefits. I was proud to stand with more than 165 Democratic colleagues to protect Social Security. When we fight, we win.

Democrats are here fighting for your health care. I’m proud to join my colleagues on a petition to force a vote on the House floor on extending ACA tax credits and keeping healthcare premium costs lower for Americans.

In their Big Ugly Bill, Congressional Republicans slashed more than $136 billion from rural hospital funding, then added back $50 billion and claimed they fixed the problem! What they did was leave an $86 billion hole for people in rural areas.

Rural communities deserve the same strong, reliable health care as anywhere else. Today on #NationalRuralHealthDay, we honor the caregivers and organizations who power rural America and keep our communities healthy.

Great to meet with leaders from our district's IBEW to discuss how we can strengthen energy reliability, support domestic manufacturing, and protect thousands of union jobs. I’ll keep fighting to restore key energy tax credits and make sure union members have fair wages.

Proud to have been tapped by leadership to join the Democratic Litigation and Response Task Force to challenge the President’s unlawful actions and stand up for the rights of every American. We’re fighting this president in Congress, in the courts, and in the court of public opinion.

My Airline Passenger Bill of Rights protects travelers from unfair treatment by airline companies. The Biden Administration started the process for expanding those protections so passengers could be compensated for delayed or canceled flights.
