My American Affordability Act puts families first by lowering the cost of childcare and making it easier to start and grow a family. It expands the Child Tax Credit, makes the adoption tax credit fully refundable, and supports family caregivers. This is how we lower costs for families.

ICE and border patrol are not making our communities safer. They're terrorizing our communities. The Senate needs to stop funding for ICE, Kristi Noem needs to be impeached, and ICE needs to get their asses out of Minnesota.

My American Affordability Act lowers the cost of education and workforce development by expanding education tax credits, reducing the tax burden on student loan interest and forgiveness, and making it easier for students to afford an education without breaking the bank.

Three years ago, a shooter killed 7 people and wounded one other in Half Moon Bay. We remember those lost, hold their community close, and recommit to action. Everyone deserves to be safe in their community.

Like many veterans, I receive my health care through the VA. But too often, insurance companies prey on veterans to enroll them in Medicare Advantage plans, which aren’t billed when care is provided through the VA.

Today would have been the 53rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade, which affirmed a woman’s constitutional right to make decisions about her own body. That freedom was overturned in 2022, and women in dozens of states lost access to essential, life-saving health care.

It’s been sixteen years since the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision opened the floodgates to allow the wealthy to have an outsized influence in our political system. I have always supported overturning that decision.

As we honor the giants of the civil rights movement, I'm proud to remember my friend and colleague John Lewis. Walking with him across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, where he was brutally beaten for demanding equal rights, was one of the most profound experiences of my life.
