Not everyone realises that the area name is still encoded in many area codes - see this Wikipedia page. Eg. "Grimsby" is 01472 and if you look at a keypad with letters, 47 is GR.

Not having to dial an area code if the number was local - the things you give up if you don't fight for them. Kids these days probably don't even know what area code they live in.
Harumph.
Moving at about 5mph, I expect?
I'm optimistic though, more and more of the operators have cottoned on that they can get customers to solve their overcrowded parking problems by letting them have a discount to move the bikes parked in congested areas. Defending their reputation for ~£1.50 a go seems cheap!
eBay established a trust tracking system 20 years ago, it's weird that Lime can't. I want dockless bikes to succeed, Lime makes a lot of profit and this isn't rocket science. I'd even give a more detailed description of what was wrong if they'd let me.
Yes, I didn't ever think I needed segregated bike lanes but it's only when you start using them that you realise how much of your focus everywhere else is second guessing what the driver behind you or turning across you is likely to do.
But the same rules apply to cyclists about hazard perception and riding according to the circumstances.
When pedestrians are injured by cars, people in local FB groups ask "did the pedestrian jump out?" or "maybe the driver had an episode?" yet everyone remembers the collision in Regents Park where the official report said there was nothing the cyclist could have done.
Don't get me started on near-crashes! Things I've observed on the school run that don't count because children haven't been seriously injured yet...
Yes, there was a study about under reporting which gets worse from fatal to serious to slight.

At least they are adjusting the grading so that severity 2s can be gradated. One grade between "death" and "slight injuries" seemed a bit nuts because anti-road-safety campaigners tend to dismiss severity 2 as being somehow not worthy of inclusion - a real "show me the bodies" response.
What's your favourite only "moderately serious" collision outcome according to the severity grading?
Mine is "loss of arm or leg (or part)"

That is a lot of destinations covered though!
Brussels is 20 minutes closer anyway - agree that for UK travellers Brussels is the more convenient hub and usually only involves a platform change instead of a trip on a metro or walking several blocks with your luggage.
🤦‍♂️ Slow handclap, SNCF.

It's now official: Due to the French government withdrawing support & SNCF unsupportive, the Paris-Vienna & Paris-Berlin Nightjet sleeper trains will be discontinued from mid-December. presse-oebb.at/news-oebb-be...
The Brussels-Vienna Nightjet will continue, 3 times per week.
Thanks - Westfield is a bit far for a favour for a neighbour I barely know. Do they not have a support number any more? They are betting heavily that people will put up with the guesses of an AI bot and not just cancel their subscriptions!
Dunno if it will help to include a hashtag? #skytv
It's extremely frustrating that they are less interested in keeping their customers connected than I seem to be. I'm not going through another full reset to satisfy their AI ChatBot, my time is more valuable than that.
I've made the mistake of offering to help an elderly neighbour get her SkyTV working. It's reached the point where we've twice needed to reset her Sky Q mini box, so I believe the system is malfunctioning. Does anyone know how to speak to a human being at Sky?
Two of these three are dangerous - both reported, both still available for rental in the app. The one on the right has a completely flat tyre, the one on the left is missing it's rear light.

Tomorrow is voting day in Switzerland, with proposals on the ballot at the federal, state & local level

Ever wondered how much power Swiss #directdemocracy gives to its voters? Just look at the city of Zurich, where citizens will decide whether to ban leaf blowers outside of fall season #Laubbläser
This Lime bike is missing a pedal but, despite me reporting it, Lime still leaves it available for the next customer's time to be wasted. @londoncentric.media
A map showing the nearest Lime bike, reported unusable to Lime, but still offered for rental to the next chump.
I wonder if the "engagement" stats there are honest?
How do they know it's Paracetamol and not McDonalds and Coca Cola that caused their children to be autistic?
They even signpost "parking areas" in the no go area! How is this fit for purpose?
