Do they have to join Truth Social and Parler to stop people radicalising on there too?

Many of us would, I’m sure, like to think we’d be brave (and smart) enough to do something like this in an absolutely terrifying moment like that. But I can only imagine the mental and physical effects you have to overcome

Intense respect for this man, Ahmed Al Ahmed. An honest to goodness hero.
Independent video (verified by the NYTimes) shows a local Bondi Beach unarmed bystander sneaking up behind one of the gunman today and tackling him to disarm him.

Unsurprised to discover that targeted homophobia by a UK citizen against another UK citizen doesn't breach Facebook's community standards. 🙄

And the "Please queue here" sticker on the floor right next to the sign👌

Who's been demoted?

Oooh, airport Geoguessr. Geneva?

Yeah, good point, I don't want to help them monetize anything

You only have to scroll on Facebook for two minutes to realise how few people are still there.

It takes leaving Meta to realise how much of a walled garden it is, doesn't it? I deactivated my account but reactivated it occasionally to see what links shared with me were about. I got bored of the 19 step process to deactivate again and now leave the account active but I'm not posting any more.

Have Google removed the option to sort Google Photos by size, helping to free up space?

"Don't be evil" is a very long time ago, isn't it?

The next nearest bike is a 15 minute walk away. Is there nothing in trades description law that makes falsely advertising services illegal @londoncentric.media ?

These are the two nearest Lime bikes to me, a five minute walk from home. Neither is ridable, one has a completely flat tyre, the other has no chain. Lime know this because I tried renting both and ended both rentals immediately with a fault report. But screenshots were taken after the report.

Fiat Punto
Ford Fiesta
Ford Fiesta
Volkswagen Golf
I've also not owned five cars, I still have the Golf and use it two or three times a month to the point that rentals feel like they might make more sense. PCPs have a lot to answer for if many people get through cars that quickly

Correction - having read 53% of it, the other 47% might be bobbins, but there's only one way to find out!

This is a brilliant book full of surprising and amusing stories of how the borders we take for granted ended up where they are. I feel like I understand the world a bit better having read it!

Is it time the space allocation on Kew Bridge was re-examined?
November 28, 2025 at 11:23 AM
Going northbound the road is always at capacity with 2 lanes of idling cars, mostly one person per car, so I use the shared pavement and occasionally someone demands that I shouldn't be there. TfL in their wisdom squeezed in an extra lane of cars leaving no space for bikes other than a pavement.
November 28, 2025 at 11:23 AM
I hate riding on the pavement. When I'm riding southbound across Kew Bridge, I stay in the carriageway because there is enough space (though I imagine it annoys some drivers).

Then when you have a technical question, they go into a sales pitch to try to change your contract. Enshittification of customer services. I've spent 15 minutes trying to get through to someone so unfortunately the poor employee who has to respond is dealing with a pissed off customer.

TBF it's about the second time I've needed to call them in ten years so I understand why they are sick of hearing from me
November 26, 2025 at 5:34 PM
In case anyone is thinking of switching to the Three mobile phone network, it's one of those networks that when you call customer services, ensures that you can never speak to a human being. Steer clear!

Some of the rental companies now offer discounts on rentals to people who'll rent a vehicle where the pavement is getting too cluttered - seems a good idea to get assistance from users to tidy up the mess.

It needs to be just engaging enough to keep you scrolling. Mastodon is the way forward, no algorithm, just the nice thoughtful people you follow, but without interspersing the posts with rage bait, you only spend five minutes at a time on their site, no one could ever monetise that.

Just before I left Twitter the algorithm constantly showed me happy slapping videos. Enshittification.

My favourite was the lanes of Santorini converted by AI to waterslides. Worth the consideration of the tourist board, at least?
