Today was a lot of fun experiencing first hand how the German Emergency Room/A&E works on orders from my doctor. Luckily given the all clear with nothing at all to worry about.

I’ve never done an IT cert before but a few things are uncertain with my job so it feels like the right time to validate the skills I’ve been using for years.
Picked up the ITIL 4 Foundation book and exam voucher yesterday. Exam Prep bundled in with the work's E-learning sub & book's a 1-2 day read.

Keep hearing rumours the original Star Wars trilogy is being restored. The unaltered versions, not the Special Editions. It might sound like fan service but the best way to delegitimise all the unofficial “despecialised” and fan restorations is simple! Make it official and then send out the lawyers!

At a doctor's that believes in Digitalisierung. There was a self check-in. It didn’t work, but the fact they have one is progress. Instead of mispronouncing my name, they’ll display it on a screen. Good thing I learned to read.

I've probably spoken before that I'm not a horror fan, but I've dipped my toes in it over the last few years to mixed effect. One of the films I really enjoyed was the remake of 'It' and its (or It's) sequel, which are an entertaining mix of atmospheric horror comedy and sheer terror.

Dear Deutschlandfreunde, for those of you who usually get 1st November off for "Allerheiligen" or All Saints Day, and don't this year because it unfortunately falls on a Saturday; This is your reminder to buy food today as the shops will be closed tomorrow. You're welcome, I've been there before.

The hardest part of owning an original Digimon as a kid was when someone murdered it on the playground with a pin to the reset button. The new ones have save slots so your Digimon and stats survive battery changes/reset. If kids today had Digimon, would they finally learn to back up their data?
There are actually two kinds. A classic model, with the original features, and a retrofitted model with more features. I'm not a purist so I've ordered the upgraded one and I bought a second one as a gift.
Why did I not hear that Digimon are back in their classic style?

Post a perfect album from the 90’s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam,Soundgarden or Alice In Chains.

I know nothing about baseball. Throwback to my first American sports bar experience. The chant "Let's go Dodgers!" still echoes in my head from that night in Pismo Beach. I had no idea it was the start of the World Series, let alone that I'd later be there for their victory homecoming parade in LA.

Sometimes things just don’t add up? one puzzle piece is in the wrong place. Like me waiting for the bus in Germany while a girl clutches a British Sainsbury’s plastic carrier bag. Not even the 'bag for life' kind.

My favourite thing about Windows 11 since switching at work? The way my cursor mystically, magically, and completely unexpectedly vanishes. A perfect seasonal trick for Halloween 👻🎃

I have the silliest Fraenk referral code, but honestly, if anyone in Germany is thinking about switching phone networks, I’ve been really happy with how much this one’s improved in the 2 years I've been with them!

Door-to-door fundraising is rare here, maybe once or twice a year. It’s always the Malteser. I recently had a digital run-in with them too.
Opened the door, confirmed it was them, and realised nothing good could come of it.

I have no idea if Google Play releases books at midnight but I'm staying up to find out. The Rose Field is a big deal to me right now.

I'm going through my photos from last year. On this day I visited the only jeweled cheeseburger in Yermo California.

So hyped for tomorrow.
1. The end of Philip Pullman’s spectacular follow-up trilogy to His Dark Materials is released.
2. German cult emo-punk band Captain Planet graces München with their show at Milla.
3. It’s my last day of work this week. 3-day weekend!

Stuck on memory lane, 2 years ago I saw Fall Out Boy after years of writing them off for going too pop. Saw them again the following year at WWWY, and I’m still convinced they have the best lighting and stage design I’ve ever seen. FOB concerts embody the feelings of their music, nostalgia included.

I'm having bad luck with Jeans. After two pairs the same size as the ones I bought last year weren't properly delivered, one went missing, one was delivered two days later, and doesn't fit! Amazon refunded me for the missing pair, and I'll send the others back, but enough is enough.

This time last year in Matt's life, the when we were young festival.
Me, my partner and about 79,998 other aging punks and emos having the time of our lives in Vegas.
I didn't have FOMO for this year's Festival last weekend, but I sure as heck felt excited for them.

What should I do with all these coins in Germany 2025 edition? 💰
Turns out Sparkasse retired their coin machines and I don’t know anyone banking with Commerzbank.
There’s €106.50 in these stacks alone. so yeah, I’d really resent giving 10%/€10 of it to Coinstar in Rewe.
Any recommendations?

I used to be a lossless audio purist but I accepted the convenience of lossy Spotify audio and Bluetooth headphones.
As of today, I'm back. My headphones and Spotify are lossless again.
Our brains are smarter than we give them credit for. We perceive information subconsciously. Lossless is more.
