As the weather grows colder, we encourage you to find ways to help in your own community. Many churches host warming centers during the fall and winter and rely on volunteers to keep them running. Local organizations working to reduce homelessness also welcome extra hands and donations.

October 10th is also World Homeless Day — a time to raise awareness, prevent and end homelessness, and ease the suffering of those experiencing it. Homelessness and mental health struggles often go hand in hand, and this is especially true within the veteran community.
