A horrific mass murder is unfolding in Sudan, where no one can see it. The RSF are murdering civilians in El Fasher, having finally defeated the Sudanese army forces holding out in the city. The BBC has managed to speak to some who escaped

@nytpitchbot.bsky.social "Running out of food stamps? Cheer up with this look at the newly remodeling White House bathroom!"

Am I close?
sure, you might not be able to eat or go to the doctor, but check out how nice Trump's new marble shitter is
According to the internets, Fillmore installed running water and Lincoln installed the first tub.
Lincoln's bathroom may have looked like this. I would expect wood paneling. Marble, this size, simply wasn't used.

Maybe tiling. I've never lived in Maryland/Virginia, so I'm not sure how they built things.

For a builder, Trump seems to know nothing about architecture. Sad.

So wait, Trump “cut a deal” with China to: buy the soybeans they were already buying before the trade war, but now China gets advanced AI chips too?? Where is the win??

I guess someone heard from Tylenol’s lawyers.
It blows my mind that he thinks $4200 in groceries is a lot. I mean, tell me you don't go to the grocery store without telling me you don't go to the grocery store.

Nearly two years ago, the company that owns Trump's Truth Social sued the Guardian, Forbes, Reuters and more than a dozen other news orgs for defamation, over supposedly misrepresenting their financials.

Yesterday, Trump's company dropped their case altogether
I'd love to see a competitive analysis of Nvidia, considering the valuation.
I looked up the property and equipment values of Ford and Nvidia. Maybe I missed something, but it seemed like:

Ford - $31B
Nvidia - $6.2B

Now, I know it also requires engineers and technicians, but why aren't there more companies making cutting edge GPUs?
I guess I should add that in in Canada. My only knowledge of US store inventory comes when I try to order something that is in US warehouses.

Thoughts and prayers.
There is a Playstation controller that I wanted to buy. Yesterday, I noticed the importer is out of stock.

People are waiting the tariffs out, prepare for empty shelves...
It's easy to see why fighting climate change is hard in that context.

Furthermore, Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky's papers are very readable and also show biases in decision making.
Had the politician suceeded, 9/11 wouldn't have happened, but because no one would know, there would be no congratulating them. Even worse, people would probably attack the politician for being paranoid and raising plane ticket prices.
Another book is, "The Black Swan", but it's about thinking of risk taking. I often think about the author's imagining of some politician who, before 9/11, had promoted locking the cockpit doors on planes.
@thepressbox.bsky.social Do you guys have, "looking for the end zone" on the list yet?

On October 8, the Senate narrowly failed to pass a War Powers Resolution that could have stopped these lawless strikes.

Since then, the US Department of Defense has killed 40 more people (out of 61 total).
Just checked out a recent book on Amazon US and Canada. US price=$16, Canada: $39.

Does Canada have a 120% book tariff on someone?!?!
And he's a breath away from being president. I can't imagine placing him above the bottom 10% of Americans 35 and older.

Sort of incredible that we live in a world where the vice president of the United States is just spewing the sort of horseshit that literal children are traditionally taught is wrong
I met a deep Florida cracker farmer who married a Thai girl and learned Thai.

Vance is out of touch with America, even the red parts.
FWIW, banking is also widely exported from the US and Canada.

I'm not sure how much to read into this comparison tho.
Who needs banks anymore when we have crypto?
