I really wanted to talk about things from a social point of view, and I think it's a good introduction for what we'll do in the coming months on the channel!

There's still so, so, so much to do, but I genuinely feel some euphoria with the intro being done.

I need to tweek a few things, but I like the direction I have for this video essay. It's as calm and soothing as I hoped, and I just can't wait to continue working on it.

I can see just from my bibliography (50+ references) that the me from graduate years just took over. 🥹

I swear, I shouldn't be allowed to write video essays. It was *meant* to be around twenty minutes, and we are looking at forty (after I cut a lot of elements from it).

I don't know if I'm happy with the result, but it makes for an interesting panorama across Japanese history, at the very least!
