I'm sorry but mortgage rates at around 4% might be higher than the recent unprecedented lows but historically that's still low. There are many ways to fix the housing market but they're all very unpopular with the people who make lots of money from owning multiple houses, which includes most MPs.

Our colour ringing season at Lytchett Bay is off to a great start with 5 Water Pipit & 5 Rock Pipit marked (under license) already. Please look out for yellow (Water) and white (Rock) marked birds and report all sightings 🙏 #Dorsetbirds
You're supposed to put blinkers on horses not yourself.
And the misandrist award of the year goes to...
If only there was a farmers union that could help sort that sort of thing out rather than just pandering to agrichemical lobbyists.
Nope, they planted the trees in the place they were told not to plant them and even then they mound planted them 🤦‍♂️
As well as Leica and Zeiss there's also a lot of other brands available nowadays which offer superb quality optics at a more reasonable price with better warranties. Unfortunately birding snobbery stops a lot of people buying them.
I've had a pair of Leica 10x42s for c30 years & have not been as protective as you are but yet I've never had to send them off for repair. I've just bought a new pair of Noctivid as they're a lot lighter. Don't understand why so many birders are happy sending off their Swaros every couple of years🤷‍♂️
Silverlake bird definitely a juv too.

I've just finished revising my free Birding Cadiz Guide (but donations via my Just Giving page to Alzheimer's Society are very welcome). No major changes, just minor updates (corrections are also posted on my blog - birdingcadizprovince.weebly.com/cadiz-birdin...)
Are you feeling Spurned Brett 😉
Not sure why I'm giving the photographer a death stare 🤣 That was probably the last time I've spoken to Chesh although my brother said he saw him a couple of years ago on Scilly and that he lives in Cornwall now. #wheresmejumper

When it comes to confident bird ID, it's all about the details 🪶

If you're looking for an upgrade from your first binoculars and want to elevate your birdwatching experience, consider the Explorer WA ED-R: www.opticron.co.uk/our-products/binoculars/explorer-wa-ed-r-binoculars

Combination of climate change and increased footfall on the mountains, especially people with dogs.

I'm selling my Swarovski NL Pure 8x42 binoculars if anyone is interested. Excellent condition, hardly been used outdoors. Full details on the page linked below, will post (UK only) at cost if required. Any reposts much appreciated, thanks. #UKBirding #BirdingGear

And sadly this is exactly why we'll never see an end to bloodsports in the UK. The rich and famous will never allow it especially when they're so in bed with ruling politicians.
I really enjoyed it Steve and it's fair to say that the entire spectrum was well and truly covered and not just by the blokes!

What I liked most was that the lads worked out that birding is a very personal thing and is to be enjoyed how you want.

While I was cleaning up the moth trap this morning a male southern small white was already flying around in the garden. See how the discal spot touches the surrounding veins over a few mm, in male small white this spot is smaller and does not or only barely touch the veins. #butterflyID
Thanks for bringing this to the attention of the House Natalie 🙏. A similar number, perhaps more, are killed annually by cats in the UK. It would be great to do something about that too.

People will says it's nature but it's not natural for domestic pets to kill wild animals.
Well done catching it early mate and wishing you a speedy recovery 🙏 I had blood tests done about 18 months ago and it was all clear but probably need them done again soon.
Before the Birdlines it was also one way to get rare bird news, I think it was normally updated on a Friday night.

An excellent day birding on #StKilda yesterday, with this Arctic Warbler probably the highlight. This is the second island record after finally being added to the Kilda list last year.
