We were doing up our front room last year, and found some scraggly wires snaking around the floorboards. They were ugly and looked half-dead so I cut them and pulled them out of their brackets and tidied them away.

Turns out they were our broadband line.

Ugh, sympathy. We had a similar run-in with a woman at the park recently; we know her to chat to, she's always been nice, gives Jake biscuits... but when the topic got onto immigrants she suddenly was talking about how she didn't feel safe on the street, how they 'were loud' in the park, etc etc

M and I are reading boat book aloud to one another to catch continuity errors and clunky wording after our last edit pass. It's working well, except that I can't seem to help but do character voices and I'm no actor. Remy LeBeau-ass levels of drawl over here.
