non-scientific observation: I live in a densely populated neighborhood in a large Canadian city where people mostly park on the street. US cars very rare here. Japan, Korea, European cars/SUVs abound. Only US vehicles are the odd pick-up truck and oversized SUV: not easy to park on the streets.
