The RX-77-2 Guncannon was support mobile suit used by the Earth Federation during the One Year War. It was part of the Operation V development project along the Guntank and the RX-78-2 aka the White Devil. The Guncannon's design prioritized bulkiness over mobility and an overall reliability in middle-range attacks. It's main weapons are of course the shell-firing cannon's attached to it's shoulders, that could be swapped by missile launchers, the circled sensor on it's crotch area helped auto-lock enemies. It also had the ability to utilize bean weaponry with it's hands. The White Base unit, one of the 3 survival units from the attack on Side 7, was piloted mainly by Kai Shiden. It's bulky appearence, paired with roundness, helps to stablish it as a support, tanky unit. It's red color could be of aid in the battlefield, taking the attention of the enemy over more fragile units. The RX-75 Guntank was the first "Mobile Suit" developed in Project V as a response to Zeon's Zaku. The Guntank resembles more a tank than a proper Mobile Suit. It has the torso and arms of an MS and caterpillar threads for legs. This unit, however, is incapable of turning it's torso. It made it difficult to battle against moving targets. It's power source, a mix of nuclear reactor and gas turbines, sadly didn't give it enough power output for beam weaponry. It excels at long and middle range combat. With 120mm cannon's on it's shoulders and four-barrel missile launchers for hands/arms. It helped mostly against enemy tanks and aircraft. It's design really conveys a desperation to have something to fight the enemy, and fast. Maybe not the best or optimal, but practical. It's color palette is mostly blue, with hints of red and white, the Earth Federation colors.
