Music biz project coming up: Additive synthesizer based on Raspberry Pi underpinnings.

Something I've wanted to do for decades is to build a usable additive machine. I have a Kawai K5000 which is great...but you have to edit 1,500+ parameters through a tiny LCD...

I'm surprised by how much lower prices are in a lot of EU states. Canada metro areas seem to be about the same as the USA -- not cheap.

As an American, I cannot believe how inexpensive real estate is in Denmark by comparison to the USA. A rural home in my area costs about $500,000. In the Seattle suburbs, it's closer to $800,000.

Four words that cause friction at home: "I had an idea"

Well, gonna be one of those days. I've been playing a lot with LLMs and RAG....and frankly, vector databases suck. Same problems we've ALWAYS had with IR and large data sets.

But I think there might be a solution. Gotta do some testing.

This weekend's task is to copy all of the important stuff off the old tower and on to the new Orange Pi workstation. Lots of math programs for generating waveforms and wavetables; will be interesting to see if there's a performance difference.

You know who takes a cognitive test? People whose family members suspect their loved one is suffering from dementia. If he kept getting “perfect” scores…they wouldn’t keep administering them.
