It's true that our lives aren't written in notebooks, but it's worth dreaming about. Dreams are what give us the strength to move on, and determination is what makes us worthy of the future we aspire to. Dreams we don't defend are worthless, and those who give up have no future.

Now I’m learning barbering as an extra skill alongside my studies, but a good machine is costly.

While we were bidding farewell to my aunt’s husband, who was martyred while seeking a livelihood,
we were struck by the news of my cousin’s martyrdom as well.

In Gaza, even money is a struggle.
Cash is scarce, liquidity almost gone, and every bill is checked obsessively before acceptance.
Sometimes we wash or glue torn notes just to keep them in use.

We begin a new school term, with a will unbroken by hunger.
We study by candlelight, aspiring to build a future.
The border is closed, and dreams of studying abroad are stuck behind locked gates.
We don’t know how long we will continue, but in Gaza, education is a miracle.

All of Gaza is a prison no shelter, no escape.
We survived the missiles, only to face a fiercer enemy: hunger.
