Day 22 of the #ShutdownShitshow

A young bear wanders into the zoo — not lost, just looking for friends.

Media spins it as quirky and adorable.

Sounds more like outreach. An activist teaching others that captivity isn’t forever.

Good morning 🐻✊🐻
Wild bear 'looking for a friend' breaks into Calif. zoo, meets 3 captive bears
How exactly the bear entered the zoo remains a mystery.

Today's advice from your Goth Auntie:
Drink some water, take your meds, and take a short break from all social media.
Look for ways you can help. If you're making donations, don't forget homeless shelters and food banks.
The ominous music in the distance IS getting more ominous.

Folks outside of Idaho, the Wilder raid is a big deal
After the FBI denied "children were zip-tied or hit with rubber bullets" in a raid in Wilder, Idaho, the FBI said no "young" children were.

The updated statement came after KIVI-TV sent FBI photo reportedly showing 14-year-old U.S. citizen in zip ties.

The police didn't interfere with the No Kings marches but things are escalating at detention centers around the country because law enforcement is attacking peaceful protesters
So much tear gas & flash grenades tonight at ICE in Portland. US Gestapo came out, pushed people back & held a line as other feds shot down tear gas canisters from the roof. People were dancing before this as an impromptu rave broke out

If you attended No Kings: Twin Cities yesterday, you likely heard our short speech about standing up to ICE. We currently support demonstrations at Whipple (ICE HQ) on Wednesdays. Join us and bear witness, do not stand idly by while our friends and neighbors get abducted daily.

I helped out a late nestling who fledged a little too soon... gave it a warm place to sleep for a few night and left it out in the day for parents to feed and help grow.
Just thought we could all use a fat fall hedgehog in our life.

Actually, this is last fall. Star is much bigger now! She was just a baby!

In the United States, there are nearly 1,000 billionaires, all of whom enable the Trump regime.

But there’s also 350 million of us—the people—and we have over 1,000 protests spread across the nation in protest of billionaires.

Join the war room for the working class: @solidaritydept.bsky.social.
'Workers Over Billionaires': It's Time to Put Heat on the Oligarchy | Common Dreams

I'm a burnt out teacher who's supposed to be relaxing during my first summer off in a few years... it's really freaking HARD to try to be okay! I'm like, should I be protesting in Florida?!?!? Should I be hunting ICE with glitter bombs?
