I enjoyed it enormously. For me, it seemed to neatly sidestep many of the familiar clichés.
I daresay it's not for everyone but it held my attention throughout. In that regard, it's probably the best kaiju movie I've seen in the last 20 years.

"The Giant Behemoth" (1959) was described by its director, Eugène Lourié, as a rehash of 1953's "The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms" (Lourié having directed both movies).
However, there are also parallels with "Godzilla" (1954) - itself a "Beast" knock-off. #Kaiju #Godzilla #scifi #horror #horrorfam
