What makes me nervous about Mamdani is not his proposals or his persona. I see the pattern of people on the left esp. the younguns falling in love with him based on vibes but when political reality sets in, they’ll get jaded and refuse to participate in the process.

The saddest part about this generation transitioning to ancestors is we are losing firsthand accounts of the abject cruelty of American racism such that people aren’t taking it seriously. You see how people now say slavery isn’t that bad despite documented evidence stating the opposite

I really don’t care who it offends but I will not read or watch a romance that doesn’t feature a woman of color. White women have dominated the industry enough that they don’t need my support. I prefer my female protagonists to be black or some shade of brown at the very least.
