Calling people selfish for not wanting kids (especially women, because wow, how dare you not have inherent motherhood inside you!!!) is such a weak argument. First of all, I don't want kids because I don't want the responsibility that comes with it. It just never attracted me at all.

My favorite argument is "It's so selfish to not want kids."

Really? Because bringing another living creature into the world, with all the implications, JUST BECAUSE YOU FEEL LIKE IT, isn't selfish?

And then, amazingly, they follow it up with "But who's gonna look after you when you're old?"

I can only say by my own experience, but respecting our boundaries is the first thing that comes to mind. I wish more people knew it's important to leave me alone and give me time to recover, for example. Social interactions can be a real pain and I'm not available all the time.

Being a person with autism has not been easy but the reason it hasn't been easy- is because non-autistic people are not taught how to interact with autistic people. Autistic people are expected to socially mask & neurotypicals generally don't have even a base idea of how autistic people communicate.

Actually finished one of my wips, wowzes.
