I really do think the worst two motivations for getting into art is doing it for fame, and doing it for the money. Sure, these can be your base animal instincts buried deep under the hood, we're a social species and we need to eat, I get it.

Which you figure out pretty quick if you've tried to work across different mediums. Hell, even working in different styles in the same medium.
