Last weekend, I visited a building for a local environmental commission in addition to participating in a hike at my local bog.
First at the commission building, I was able to get a lifer in some Fox Sparrows.

A little late for 2/2, bur I have nature DnD art. Not a bird, but I was inspired and made an exception for today. We have the Groundhog (Marmota monax). Overall, their class is a wizard from the school of divination. May I please have name suggestions for them?

On 01/16/26, I visited a beach for some winter birdwatching. On the beach, I was lucky enough to see this Snowy Owl.

Last week, I made some visits to multiple locations near where I live, my local bog and nearby lake. At the bog, I was able to see a pair of Sandhill Cranes. The pictures of the Cranes are not the best quality, because it was very cloudy and dark that day.

Backyard Birdwatching Post 14:
In the new year, I was able to place a suet block in my feeder. Specifically, the block was specifically for woodpeckers. I was able to get some Downy Woodpeckers at the feeder in addition to some Tufted Titmice and Dark-Eyed Juncos (not included).

(Long Thread) On New Year's Day, I was able to start my birding year off well with a couple of rare birds in my area. Specifically, I was able to see a couple of Barnacle Geese. This is a thread of their pictures. (1/5)

New DnD bird art in the New Year! Today, we have the Barnacle Goose (Branta leucopsis). Overall, their class is a druid from the circle of the sea. I was inspired by one of my birdwatching outings in the previous week. Again, may I please have some name suggestions for them?

Last week, I visited some nearby bogs, including my local bog. From the first bog, we have a White-Throated Sparrow and a Red-Breasted Nuthatch.

Finally, the last thing I saw at the refuge was one of my highlights for the trip. It was a Wood Duck near the end of the route for the NWR.

I have another picture of a Green-Winged Teal. Near the beginning of the trip, I was able to get pictures of a Mallard x American Black Duck Hybrid, which was one of the highlights of the trip.
