DHS is using predator drones to spy on us. They will spy on liberal political activists, dissenters & eventually anyone. This breaks our 4th amendment, our government is subverted. If what's happening doesn't fit 'defending the constitution from threats both foreign&domestic' I don't know what would

Marlowe by the fire. The indigo planted in containers is in for the night, and geranium my parents dug up from outside, now that frost is coming.

#October #autumn
A large, tri-colored dog sleeping in front of a red woodstove with a fire burning inside it. My hand holding indigo flowers. I grow some in containers to get seeds for next year. The small flowes are white, and the leaves are bright green. Two pots of geraniums on a wooden table. There are 2 different shades of pink blossoms.

Excellent extemporaneous speaking (on national TV), while marching!

I hope he and his family were able to get out today.

Such an unexpectedly great film!

Sweet Wobble was very wet after the nice rain we got.

#cormosheep #sheep 🐑
A white sheep with a pink nose and golden eyes looks closely into the camera. The same sheep, this time looking off to the left. His wool looks a bit dirty, and is quite wet from a rainstorm. His name is Wobble, and he is an elderly (12~13 years old?) Cormo sheep.

My 2010 Subaru (manual transmission) is closing in on this number. Only car I've ever bought new.

My daughter gifted me one of these last Christmas!

I've made many hundreds of heddles on a similar jig, though with a single piece of string, so a bit different from this variation. You have some great old weaving books!

Presto - the new pony is in the barn! Which is to say; I spent several hours wrassling the new antique loom together, and did it without dropping any timbers on my head, so – yay!

Also, look how adorable these heddles are.

#Weaving #antiqueloom
An antique weaving loom standing tall in a rustic barn studio. The same barn studio several hours earlier, with the loom pieces in a pile, waiting to be assembled. The room has bare, sloping wooden walls, and the floor is painted mustard yellow. Two windows flank an open loft door, and a green landscape is visible through them. A heddle-knitting jig with string heddles being made. A netting shuttle loaded with linen twine rests on the shaft bars. My feet are visible at the bottom of the frame. A closeup of some of the string heddles as a dowel (used to form the heddle eyes) is removed. My hand is holding the heddles. They are about 8 inches long, and the heddle eyes are about 1/2" in diameter.

That's interesting! They are indeed knotted. The simple loop one makes first is very similar to the heddles we use for the warp-weighted loom (which are also called "knitted heddles"). I'll have to look and see what the step is called in Norwegian.

That is definitely a sign of a good event.

Haha, I see what you did there. :-)

It's a type of reel, so not a swift... Reels are for winding yarn from a bobbin into a skein, and swifts are for holding a skein of yarn while it is wound into a ball, or onto a bobbin, etc. :-)

Spotted this beautiful winder at neighbor's yard sale and had to bring it home. I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but it has an adorable "clicker" design. It's a typical, 2-yard circumference, 80-yard measure.

#handspinning #reel #weasle
Am antique yarn winder. It is made of dark wood, has long, thing legs, and 4 arms. It's sitting next to a red woodstove in a farmhouse living room. A detail of the mechanism of the yarn winder. When the winder is turned clockwise, a wooden gear on the side of the winder turns counter clockwise. A small wooden peg on the gear passes the arm of a weight once every 40 turns. The peg pushes a lever down, and when it passes by, a wooden knocker strikes the table of the winder. The winder is also designed with a built-in wooden handle at the top.

I lifted lots of heavy things this weekend (still didn't get the firewood stacked, tho).
A panorama view of construction in a barn. There's a door on the left, a new wooden wall, partially-patched concrete floor, an old stone wall, and tools strewn about. Another barn view (this is a different building from picture 1). The floor is made of large stone pavers. There's an object under a white cloth in the center of the frame (it's an antique fanning mill, a seed-cleaning machine). Bundles of hemp and flax are stacked at the back walls, and there are tools, tires, and random objects hanging on the walls. The upstairs of the building in picture 2. A disassembled loom, a warp-weighted loom, and other weaving-related objects are in an interior space with exposed roof trusses and a painted, yellow floor. Two cords of firewood lie in a large pile outside an old white farmhouse. In the background, sun shines on a patch of fall foliage.

A friend of mine (age 92) has been taking visitors to see the graveside he has chosen for himself. He seems to really enjoy this.
