Wild how LinkedIn turns the cruel into “humble,” the petty into “kind.” I’ve worked with some of these folks—on earth they’re villains; online they’re saints. Big stage, great costumes.

LinkedIn titles are wild: CEO of a company with no staff, MD of a Gmail inbox, VP of “strategy.” It’s cosplay for credibility. Corporate culture rewards the costume—impostor syndrome is the uniform.

Love interviews where you’re grilled for 60–90 minutes, then: “not the right fit.” Bonus when they drag you in after hours because the manager’s “busy.” Do the first screen online. If it’s a no, send the email within a week—not months.

Why are my interviewers getting younger every round? When did I become “the older candidate”? I spent years grinding for a paycheck—it put food on the table and ate my time. Now I’m older, tired, and wondering where the life went. 🥲

Another interview, another “future rejection.” Hotel panel + laptop + full business case—free consulting—then ghosted like the rest. Try Zoom for round one; meet later if I pass. Hope-lift → drop is a corporate sport.

Don’t waste candidates’ time. It’s 2026, not 1950—first interviews should be online. If they pass, do face-to-face. What’s the point of round-one hotel panels if you’ll reject/ghost 99.9% anyway? Corporate nonsense in full form.

We’ve got courses for everything—except the one skill that moves careers: strategic brown-nosing. Funny how the most-used tactic isn’t in the syllabus. 😇

Corporate language: “learn to be micromanaged by insecure climbers who got promoted by managing up.”
Plain English: it’s not a democracy—shut up and comply. Foot soldiers are disposable…and so are you.

Corporate → lifestyle inflation → debt. Fancy job, fancy toys, easy swipe. Then they cut you, the market’s trash, and suddenly you’re servicing debt on below-minimum offers. Goodbye “treats,” hello survival. That’s the debt cycle.

To anyone starting a corporate career: master your money. Skip the spending spree. Corporate won’t last forever—save for skills, a home, a business, a pension. Don’t let the glamour fool you. AI is coming, and the job apocalypse isn’t a meme.

The backers of the Enhanced Games have snagged a $1.2 billion value after their SPAC deal. That seems pretty pumped up for such a risky concept (via Bloomberg Opinion)
MAGA Billionaires Can't Get Enough Testosterone
Encouraging people to use performance-enhancing drugs to break world records — the core idea behind the Enhanced Games, aka the “Steroid Olympics” — already gave me pause. Now its billionaire backers say they’ll offer testosterone to ordinary folks, not just athletes, as part of their plan to take their events-slash-telemedicine company public via a special-purpose acquisition company. That makes me even warier.

In corporate, relationships are transactional. Useful = “best friend.” Not useful = “who are you?” Big mistake is believing you have real friends at work. It’s mutual interests, not loyalty. Accept it early and the ride gets smoother.
