Best advice I’ve gotten in a long time: Decide what kind of life you actually want. And then say no to everything that isn’t that.

Two days. I finished this in two days, which I think is a personal record. Its a gift for a “secret sister” who likes orange and butterflies. 😊 🧶

Pattern is called March of the Butterflies by Grey Owl Knits, yarn is Cornucopia and Reapers Rags by Spun Right Round. #knitsky
Orange and grey handknit beanie with a butterfly motif and big pompom on top

Finally catching up on the @worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com Midnight Deep Dive - can I just say that I LOVE the concept of the Arator campaign and the Arcantina? Anything going back to the old world to experience it in different ways is a win. Azeroth is still the best thing about the game.

Buddy Holly by Weezer comes on.

“Finally! Something popular!”

Wait. This song came out in 1994. That’s… 30 years.

I’ll be over here refilling my pill caddy and drinking my fiber drinks thanks. 👵🏻

Tonight I’m chilling in a Hard Rock Hotel room, listening to the in-room music channel while doing some intricate stitching.

Me: “Remember when Hard Rock used to play music that was actually popular?”

Hubs: “That is the most old-person thing I’ve ever heard you say.”

He’s right.

Life update: one more trip to TN this week to close on my in-law’s house and deal with probate court matters. It’s been a long road to get here but we finally are nearing the end. I hope to get back to podcasting in October, just in time for Fiber Festival season. 🧶

Knitty has it right.

Funny enough, when I was in the planning for my podcast, I kept getting advice to use AI for scripting, for graphics, for subject matter, whathaveyou. No thanks. I’d rather be my authentic weird self, and I’d rather consume real content from real people.
knitty.com
In all my "Knitty doesn't use AI" messaging, I forgot that designers might want to turn to it for a tweak to their intro or a tarting-up of their photos. Whoops.

It's now in the Submission Guidelines, and is the last item to confirm on the Submission Form. We don't do AI. Please you don't either.

I don’t typically do kickstarters, but I am here with bells on. There are so few knitting magazines left, and I love their creative concept for this one.

I had to pick up a laptop and get it setup, so unfortunately no. I spent about 4 hours in the office, so almost a 12 hour day total.

Ideally there will be a sample knitted up so that you know what you’re getting, but otherwise I check Ravelry. :) It has saved me from a few costly mistakes!

Today's commute was 7 hours round-trip. I hope to not have to do that again for a while.

My piece of advice when it comes to expensive yarn, especially if it's indie-dyed, is to understand what you're buying. Some of the prettiest, brightest, most variegated skeins are going to pool when you knit them. Tonals and speckles tend to work up nicer and have more versatility.

I thought it was better than most of the recent ones. It felt very old-school Warcraft to me.

Yep, I’m so in.

First look at the #MidnightReveal of the zones coming to Warcraft in 2026 👀
A vast mythical forest full of bright, orange leaves fills the image. A tree limb lies across the path ahead that leads to a small hut. Text Reads: 4 Zones. New & Reimagined. World of Warcraft Midnight. Large mushroom-like trees populate a field full of wild, thorny plant growth. At the center of the field is a wide waterfall with mist rising from it. In the distance are huge mountains that are reaching for the tree roots that spiral and cover the sky. Text Reads: Harandar. 1 Dungeon. 1 Delve. Home to the Haranir. Harandar sits at the confluence of the World Trees’ great roots. Underneath a cloudy, starlit sky lies a dark and mysterious land populated by large, jagged mountains. Hovering above the land is a dark, evil-looking construct that looms above it all. Text Reads: The Voidstorm. 2 Dungeons. 3 Delves. Experience strange phenomena - storm fields that twist space around you, and chaotic, unpredictable gravity. The bright, orange forest continues with a large curved tree sitting in the foreground next to a lamp post of blue light. In the distance is a large castle with wing-like tips pointing to the sky. Text Reads: Quel’Thalas. 2 Dungeons. 3 Delves. New areas like The Sanctum of Light and the Memorial Garden join a fully rebuilt Silvermoon City. A stone path is being lit by firelight. Down the path are a handful of large trees and huts topped with tree leaves. At the end of the path lies a large ancient temple made of stone with wooden spikes protruding from its roof. Text Reads: Zul’Aman. 2 Dungeons. Explore the long-hidden destinations of the Amani, Amani’Zar, Broken Temple, and The Leech Bog.

Jasper is our newest addition. Nobody else wanted him because he “looked sad”, but he is the sweetest, cuddliest little guy. Big hugs my friend, you’ve been going through one of the most difficult experiences we can have as human beings. Take your time to process, grief is not over quickly, if ever.

Most of the killed-off NPCs in Darkshore. I still think about Gwynneth Bly’leggonde for no real reason. Also Astarii Starseeker from the Temple of the Moon in Darnassus.

Really can’t wait for life to normalize again. This week we are out of state AGAIN doing a final cleanout on my in-laws house and getting it on the market. I am waiting for this late summer heat to break because after we get this settled I want a slow, cozy, cool fall.

I’m honestly just waiting for player housing at this point. I lost interest in any other end-game activities long ago. It’s just going to be story and housing for me going forward.

Between being sick, working on a fall sweater, listening to #Warcraft podcasts talking about the upcoming expansion hype, and knowing that my next vacation is our annual autumn trek to New England - it feels like fall is coming. Not quite in the air yet, but close. 🧶

Welp. RSV and bronchitis have put a crimp in this week’s plans. Had to get tested for pneumonia as well, they said its negative “for now”. 🙄 This is the worst I have ever felt. I could deal with the congestion, but the fever/chills/aches are what is kicking my ass.
moxieknits.bsky.social
Every day I’m hustlin’. 😆 Nah it was a lucky shot.

Those are gorgeous first socks! You’re so kind, thank you! 🥹

Figured out a nice life hack: a recumbent bike is a pretty decent place to get some knitting done. I looped a little bag around one of the side handles to hold the yarn balls so they don’t go all over the floor. Add in an audiobook to listen to and it’s a multitasking dream. Rigby approves.
