Today is World Homeless Day, and after years reporting on this crisis, I'll just say: homelessness is neither inevitable nor intractable. It's the result of choices—political, economic, moral—that can be unmade.

And this: how we treat the unhoused is a bellwether for the violence we will tolerate.

but 90% of my energy has been spent on preparing to live outside

rather than counting on the systems which have failed me over and over again

i'll just be ONE more person in the position millions have been in

October 9th. #HelpFolksLive2025 thread. Something's *always* due & food is *always* needed. Things only get better with community action. *Now* is when folks need food, water, shelter, meds. *Now* is when we/the community needs to be there for each other. There's no one else. Just us.
