Bike sometimes. Trying not to get crushed.
By proceeding with eating nothing but 20 milkshakes a day before seeking approval from my doctor, I forced the issue. It's a strategy known as "shake-dying."
By proceeding with the demolition of the White House East Wing before seeking approval from federal agencies for a new ballroom, President Donald Trump forced the issue. It's a strategy known as "stake-driving."
How Trump Demolished the White House East Wing
By putting the demolition of the East Wing before the necessary approvals for his ballroom, President Donald Trump borrowed a tactic known as “stake-driving” to force an outcome.

Harvested apples from my backyard tree. Which is weird, because Rick Kupchella told me I got murdered several times along the way. And yet...

fiery speech from dewayne davis addressing dinner du nord, looking at photos of who was at the table and not recognizing the mayor’s friends from when he goes to the food shelf, contrasted with the encampments and shootings, who is being invited to the table?

dewayne the pastor in full effect 🔥

Not sure what the right approach is, but when I'm biking I feel an impetus to give a friendly wave to any car who could've run me over but is aware enough not to.

Most nights my waving arm is at least as tired as my legs by the time I get home. I don't love that.

Beautiful day for some union beer. Cheers to what's hopefully a good and fair settlement for UMN teamsters

This Labor Day, I want to celebrate our city’s unions and to thank the workers that make our city run. We deserve a Mayor who will put people before profits every time.

Happy Labor Day!

I don't spend a ton of time in South Minneapolis, but Wooden Ship is an absolute gem, especially on a day like today

davis says the mayoral race isn’t a binary race, much as mayor frey wants it to be. tells voters not to “disempower themselves” by viewing this as a two person race or only ranking one candidate

people underestimate dewayne davis. every time i talk to him, i learn new depths to his political savvy thanks to his years in DC where notably, the political press has electeds and those working for them under a much harsher level of scrutiny than we have here in minneapolis

We deserve a city government that works for all of us—where decisions are made based on what’s right for the people of our city, not based on who is most loyal to the mayor.

We deserve better.

Not 100% sure that's a look of approval, but if this doofus is going to flop around in his back with his head on a pillow, I feel like I have no choice but to tuck him in.

Did a little Whirl-ing. Just dipped my toes in, but made it to Thomas Abban, Early Eyes, and USPop.

Got bigger plans for tomorrow - 4+ venues, 8-10 bands, maybe a studio or two.

Probably my favorite weekend every year - seeing the best of the city by bike. Join me.

It's me. I'm the we in "we need materials to teach."

We've been fighting this fight against half the school board for a year now. They've been continually moving the goalposts and keep refusing to buy us textbooks that aren't 20 years old. Their latest demand is that we lecture for 30+ min. daily.
Teachers union accuses Anoka-Hennepin school board of micromanaging how and what to teach
Conservative board members have questioned about history and psychology curriculum, and whether teachers should spend more time lecturing in class.

The majority of democratic voters support universal healthcare, yet universal healthcare isn’t officially part of the DNC platform.

Why? The healthcare oligarchs ensure that it isn’t.

Democrats will not be able to fight GOP corruption if they have a corruption problem themselves.

It’s disheartening to read how the Mayor’s strong arm approach towards people who are unsheltered are making them feel even more unsafe and unsure where to go. As usual, the Mayor is playing politics to hide the problem rather than doing the hard work of governing –

I wasn’t MIA. When it mattered the most, I showed up for our teachers and educators.

Strong schools make a strong city, and that starts with creating fair, safe, and supportive working conditions in our classrooms.

Doing the thing where you say "Kobe!" and then you shoot your crumpled up paper into the recycling bin or whatever, except my version is to say "Scooby!" and then I give my dog a bunch of pets.

Maybe hasn't totally caught on yet, but Murphy is a fan.
