The owners were going to bury her. Alive. But they decided since "she was still breathing that wasn't the best thing to do" and brought her into a local vet hospital.

Late last night, I got a call about a dog that was seen very sick on the streets and needed help. The little boy infested with ticks and fleas was dropped at the refuge this morning, riddled with what looks to be cancer.

All 3 pups have mange and parasites. When cleaning them of the flea and tick infestation, one little girl screamed out in pain. Her front leg is badly broken; we hate to think of how...but it needs to be repaired right away.

This afternoon, I was notified of 4 newborn orphan puppies that their mother was poisoned and killed on purpose by the neighbors. The family didn’t know how to care for the babies, even though they had the best intentions, so these babies have been starving since Wednesday.

In the past 14 days, we have taken in over 30 animals from the most dire cases from parvovirus-stricken puppies, to cats rescued from hoarding, to a collapsed Husky too weak to stand, to the animals given no hope; a blind and deaf kitten, a paralyzed puppy... we take them all.
