The Giants moved way up in the MLB Draft Lottery to secure the No. 4 overall pick (via @alexpavlovic.bsky.social)
Giants' first-round pick surprisingly makes massive jump in 2026 MLB Draft Lottery results
The San Francisco Giants' first-round pick made a huge jump in the 2026 MLB Draft Lottery.

Hernandez is a 65 which is wild the Giants essentially getting 2 first round picks in the same draft.
So literally every player ranked 2-8 is a 60 grade according to MLB pipeline and there were No 65 grade players in last years draft and 3 in the 2024 draft. (Luis Hernandez is a 60 Grade I believe)

MLB Pipeline has basically the same grade for all of these Players

Nick Kurtz, Wyatt Langford, Marcello Mayer, were all #4 overall picks and the thing that's sending me is pretty much every college hitter drafted between 3-7 ends up being really good.

Curriel and and Lebron jump out to me as guys they Giants will give a long look too. SEC bats, Both 60 grade speed, Fielding. Curriel better more developed hitter but less power upside. Also before the draft college pitchers tend to rise. I could see them shooting for the best college pitcher.

The Giants will pick fourth in the draft. By record they should be 15th, but they moved way up in the lottery. Randy Winn represented them on stage and brought some serious good luck.

So Cayama, Bresnahan, Bo Davidson, Wisenhunt, and Matos. Would that get Gore? Would the Nats do it?
The Nationals probably want at least 4 players so I could imagine taking Josuar out and replacing him with Wisenhunt or Birdsong and then adding Cayama or De La Torre. Would this get it done? Feel like Davidson would have to be in there too.

Important to note that the Giants are first class organization and are respected around the league for lots of reasons. They have amazing facilities at the MLB and developmental levels and are constantly recognized for it.

Congratulations to Brad Grems and Gavin Cuddie on being named Clubhouse Managers of the Year.

This is the first time both home and road clubhouse awards were won by managers from the same team in the same year.

I'm watching the Giants on Peralta and MacKenzie Gore. if they can get either without giving up Eldridge or Josuer they will have done something magnificent.

Valdez is gonna be this year's Burnes. The Giants met with him to find out if he was Kook, and then probably made some short term high AAV offer. He'll go somewhere else.

So unless you are convicted on a prospect and believe 100% that he will be a star or atleast an everyday player. TRADE HIM before his first AAA at bat.
Just important to note with Luciano flaming out. Prospects are Lottery tickets. less than 10% of first rounders end up with becoming a star player and only about 70% ever reach the majors, and only about 20% ever contribute much and it's lower for International free agents.

Dear Pirates: take the 120 you were offering Schwarber and just offer it to Alonso.
December 9, 2025 at 8:04 PM
Farhan's tenure with the Giants and ultimately our sanity really hinges on refusing to trade Bart in 21 and trade Luciano in 23. If he'd traded Luciano for Burnes or Sale the Giants have a better pitching staff in 23 and don't tank. in 21 Bart for Scherzer absolutely gets them past the Dodgers.

If anyone wants Pete Alonso you can get him if you offer him a 4th year...What a weird baseball world we live in.
December 9, 2025 at 7:53 PM
Vaughn Grissom was basically the main piece in the Braves trade for Chris Sale. That could have been the Giants with Luciano but Farhan didn't do anything at the deadline in 23.

I’m told Giants third baseman Matt Chapman is in the conversation for joining Team USA in the WBC. There are all kinds of layers of approval for these things, so it’s far from a done deal.

Parks Harber and Nate Furman getting run during spring training with all these guys representing their countries?

Edwin Diaz to the Dodgers is interesting because they over use their bullpen then spend a ton on it. I wonder if they are trading Tanner Scott?
December 9, 2025 at 4:33 PM
Schwarber back to the Phillies on 1 more year than the Pirates offered. 5 years for Schwarber will age like cheese but the Phillies without Schwarber are desperate. i think lots of signings gonna hit today with Schwarber out.

This is one of those things where it's funny but it kind of points to the type of dude Kent was and why he's hard for fans to fully embrace.
Jeff Kent was asked about the infamous wrist injury he sustained from "washing his truck."

"That'll die with me. But, what you think happened, there's some truth to it. What did happen — what I said happened — there's some truth to that."
