I’m a former submariner who’s been to sea on conventional, AIP and nuclear powered submarines. I’m a former senator who knows how Canberra works. Tomorrow night I will participate in an webinar about #AUKUS. It’s not a podcast, but a conversation you can join in on. #auspol

No wonder Minister Murray Watt is 'huffing and puffing' to try to speed up passage of his propose environmental laws through the Senate - the longer and harder we look at the Bills, the more pitfalls and holes we see. 👇Take 'net gain' for example. 👇#auspol

Rather than the gas cartel prioritising the supply of Australian gas to their foreign customers, we need the Australian Govt prioritising the supply of Australian gas to Australians. We need a retrospective gas reservation policy now. #auspol

Money is used for general trade and is backed by gold, silver or the State. Cryptocurrency isn’t used for general trading and is backed only by the perception or those that have ‘invested’ in it. #EmperorsClothes www.afr.com/opinion/is-b...

Depending on your timing, the cryptocurrency – which has all the hallmarks of a Ponzi scheme – could easily be the best or worst investment you have ever made.

Given the choice between the ruthless price-gouging gas industry and struggling manufacturers, the choice is clear (except if you are brain dead, or a gas cartel lobbyist). We need a retrospective gas reservation scheme now! #auspol

When export gas trains in Gladstone were approved, Labor (supported by the Coalition) declined to put a gas reservation scheme in place. Australians have suffered from high energy prices ever since. It’s time to fix that error. Wee need a retrospective gas reservation scheme now. 1/2 #auspol

This week’s #WorkFromRoam office is Yeppoon Beach, Queensland. I’m firing off an #FOI to Defence for more info on future #AUKUS sub bases and working on a Federal Court protective cost order in my case to force the Govt to hand over their AUKUS nuclear waste plans. #auspol

After 4 months fighting for access to info about future plans for an #AUKUS nuclear sub base in NSW, I’ve now been provided with 👇docs👇 the Defence Department claimed ‘the disclosure of would damage national security’. Judge for yourself - but I think they’ve been most dishonest. #auspol

If the Coalition really was serious about addressing high energy prices they would have stepped out of today’s joint discussion to announce a retrospective gas reservation scheme to end local price gouging by the gas cartel. All talk, no walk. #auspol

Under Labor’s environmental reforms, project proponents don’t have to disclose scope 3 emissions, only scope 1 and 2 (see post 2/2 for definition). Why? Official’s avoided answering Senator David Pocock’s question on that🤷‍♂️. Looks like a job for #FOI. 1/2 #climate #auspol
