Here’s the SA Govt admitting that when a brief is sensitive they engage in the ‘Hollowmen practice’ - the brief is placed on a trolly and wheeled through the Cabinet room so the public never gets to 👀 it. #AbuseOfProcess #saparli

Less than 4 weeks from an ART #transparency hearing @AlboMP’s Govt have realised its #FOI secrecy claims are unsustainable. At ten$ of thousand$ in legal costs to the taxpayer they’ve now offered to release a large amount of new #AUKUS waste material info (sample👇in orange). #auspol

When you combine Admirals (proposers) who only have an eye for toys and Cabinet ministers (approvers) who have no training in project risk, disaster will ensue - not personally for the Admirals or Cabinet Ministers, rather for the taxpayers and national security🤦‍♂️. #AUKUS #auspol

While it’s so very frustrating to see the Govt resisting transparency on where they intend to process then bury #AUKUS radioactive waste, at least I get to fight their secrecy from a serene location.

Topic: Where to bury #AUKUS high level radioactive waste?

The Govt submits to the Admin Review Tribunal that the ability for officials to deal with this sort of policy issue in secret “is worth more to the public than being informed” about some of their thoughts.🤷‍♂️ #FOI #auspol

Generosity to the tune of $10B for US and UK shipyards, $368B for an opulent expeditionary defence capability, but austerity when it comes to buying back guns to keep Australians safe at home 🤷‍♂️. #SkewedPriorities #AUKUS #auspol

Australian manufacturing is barely above 5% of GDP (US=10%). Our economic complexity ranking has fallen to 105th place (US=15th). Yet Australian taxpayers are funding US domestic manufacturing recruiting, training and equipment procurement. 🤦‍♂️ #fail #AUKUS #FOI #auspol

OMG - they took the kid’s iPads and iPhones away!

All they were left with were some rocks, a deep river, some developing (and supervised) risk assessment skills and a level of courage. It was like being back in the 1970’s.

#WorkFromRoam plan for the day.

Coffee. Read the News. #FOI request. River swim. FOI submission. Wombat watching. Photography. Continue FOI submission. River swim. Irish coffee. Read (The Constitution of NSW: Anne Twomey). Sleep.

Some odds and sods #FOI work today, along with an ABC pre-record, and all from my new office location next to the Shoalhaven River, South Coast, New South Wales. #WorkFromRoam

It’s bizzare that the Chief Executive of the SA Department for Energy and Mining has not received any briefs on the stabilisation of the Whyalla Steelworks. It’s extraordinary that they ‘ordered’ me not to publish 👇this letter👇. #saparli

The Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet is using the awful events at Bondi to justify delaying a response to a gambling related #FOI. Really? FOI officials and gaming policy advisors are on the front line of the nation’s terrorism response? Or just shabby opportunism? #auspol

Richard Marles just loves his private jets - so befitting a man of his importance. After a secrecy blanket was wrapped over these taxpayer funded flights, he’s been free to indulge with no scrutiny. Except the ‘security risk’ excuse has failed in the face of #FOI. #auspol

When your child’s school is lacking essential resources or you’re stuck in a hospital waiting room, think of our ‘entitled’ pollies jetting about in taxpayer funded RAAF 737s, instead of flying commercial. #auspol

Hey @jimchalmers.bsky.social. Why not focus on #AUKUS spending and switch away from an unaffordable ‘best’ submarine capability that won’t be delivered to an affordable ‘adequate’ submarine capability that will be delivered? #auspol

In the same week the US released a new National Security Strategy which declared “the affairs of other countries are our concern only if their activities directly threaten our interests”, @RichardMarlesMP declared “full steam ahead” on #AUKUS 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️. #juxtaposition #auspol
