I've had a dreams of doing live 3D Savlonic gigs for years (amount other dreams, but this is a biggy) and the fact that I'm getting closer to that with open source software is amazing.

Yeah. I absolutely love it. I love how we've got to the point where 3D tools like Blender and Unreal let you get really creative with how things look now and the main cost to learn them is time.

Part of it is the use of orthographic projection. Things further away don't get smaller.

Maybe I can interest you in a VR game idea I have called "Dinner With Pets" ; Wherein you have to try and eat a meal whilst various animals try and get at your food.

I would absolutely adore working on some part of a game, soundtrack or visuals. Computer music was what got me started so many years ago. I remember dancing around my room with my C64 hooked up to my stereo, or just pausing a game to just listen to the music.
