Excited to finally launch my new audio drama from Definitely Human! The Divide is a 12 part spy thriller set in 1964 & arriving in your local branch of podcasts on 24th October. The art you can see here is by the amazing @bookcoversbyjon.bsky.social who is very much available for this kind of thing!
The Divide cover art. A silhouette of a man on a yellow background with three shadows - wait, what?

This is rather gorgeous. #blakeandmortimer
Hardback copy of L’Art de la Guerre, a Blake and Mortimer special by Floc’h, Fromental and Bocquet. Blake and Mortimer are walking down a New York street

Up to now I’ve only ever seen the clip on Microsoft Cinemania ‘95.

Might give this ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ film a try.

Trying to activate a Sky Stream Puck is the closest thing to torture I’ve ever experienced. It’s like being trapped in some kind of endless Kafkaesque nightmare.

Finally biting the bullet. I’m throwing away the tub of chilli powder we’ve had since we lived in Wakefield. In 2004.

Found in the bottom of my wardrobe - my old Manchester Youth Theatre T shirt. I can’t believe I still own it, much less that it still fits!

If you use We Transfer to send files, you really need to be aware of these terms and conditions.

Guess I'm going to be looking for a new file transfer provider.

Bye forever, WeTransfer.
WeTransfer TOS says they can use all your uploaded content for genAI

Also rather impressed by my 12 year old who, when set homework to do a speech and diorama about a hero, chose Emmeline Pankhurst.
Diorama depicting Emmeline Pankhurst on a cobbled road with a black and white illustration of Speaker’s Corner, surrounded by colour slogans, including ‘Deeds Not Words’ and ‘Soldiers in Petticoats’

Not saying I’m tired but was just looking through the office window into the Manchester ship canal and saw something massive in it, only to realise it was a reflection of my shoe.

Nothing says glamour like sitting in your hotel room drinking cheap supermarket scotch and watching early 80s episodes of Bullseye.

Currently only standing due to the massive amount of tea that I’ve been mainlining since 11am.

First morning of Glastonbury for me and the view is looking good.
A car park in Salford. Looking a bit grey.

My 8 year old is on a classic Doctor Who binge at the moment. His main takeaway so far is, ‘why do the Daleks like mining?’

Thrilled that my voice has been resurrected for this collection of horrors from the archives on BBC Sounds. Listen now! If you dare…

Current Dick Barton serial has escalated from protection racket shenanigans to ‘watch out! There’s a killer gorilla!’ quite nonchalantly.

Is a really chilled out half-man, half-horse a zentaur?

My 8 year old has just presented me with a comic book he’s just written about a jazz playing warthog who fights some alien slime with horses and jazz.

Ceci n’est pas une pipe.
The fabulous pipe radio prop from a play many years ago. Made from an old pipe with a radio aerial screwed into the side.

It’s both different and completely the same. It’s been lovely being back, albeit briefly.

Wandering Manchester city centre after a very long time away. Hard not to feel nostalgic for those late 1990s MYT summers…

Admit it. This is the sort of content you joined social media for. You were desperate for cross middle aged man transport updates. I can see you lapping it up.

What a day. Due into Salford for work tomorrow hampered by an epic level signal failure at Reading. Leaving me going up tomorrow with no idea whether I have anywhere to sleep thanks to no one answering the phone at Salford Quays Premier Inn. Do I win a prize?

Freddie Freeloader from the most famous jazz album on the planet gets JazzTastic with @woodyroy underway today at 3pm on Humber Wave Radio. It leads nicely into trumpeter Jay Phelps who brings his band to play the Kind of Blue album in its entirety in York this week 1/2
