Is it just me, or did the vibe around indie games change ~2015?
I know this is likely my least accurate take, but idk... I get a different feel from say, Fez or Super Meat Boy vs Untitled Goose Game or Lethal Company.

GurgleSludge is so good, I especially loved the Motorcycle Chase near the end of part 1, that's where it really ramps up IMO.

I personally don't like roguelites with heavy metaprogression, because I ultimately feel as through the difficulty in these titles is less due to my own lack of skill, but because I didn't put in enough hours to unlock the needed upgrades.
Roguelikes are more accurately called Roguelites, due to not following the Berlin Interpretation.
Furthermore, I'd separate those without major crossrun progression (Classical Roguelites) and those that do (Contemporary Roguelites).
