Londoner via Yorkshire. Tea enthusiast. Loves a book. Does theatre. Watches films. Writes a bit. DCP.
Saw this at LFF last night. Best film of the festival (so far) and probably the best film I've seen all year. Not an easy watch by any means but completely brilliant.
David Jonsson and Tom Blyth star in the trailer for the new thriller #Wasteman.

Patti Smith at the London Palladium tonight. Absolutely stunning. A true rock star.

(Yes she wheeled Johnny Depp out for the encore, which was a choice...)

Very much enjoyed 'Dracula' at the Lyric in Hammersmith if you're looking for a cheap night at the theatre. Probably not one for the misogynists or terfs, but who wants to sit in a theatre with them anyway?

Matt Berry. That gives me the sads.

The orange nonce wants peace in Ukraine because he wants the Nobel Peace Prize. He wants that because Obama won it.

Don't forget that.

I actually watched the news today and have been in a state of permanent rage ever since.

Shan't be doing that again.

I saw the universally critically praised, award showered play Stereophonic last night, and I'm wondering if I saw the same play everyone else saw.

If a play could win an award for overhype, this would be it.

Someone in the office just shouted "fuck off" after sneezing and I feel like this should be the normal response to possible illness, not "excuse me" like you've just bumped into someone in the supermarket.

Monday is a rubbish day to have a birthday but I bucked that trend today. Bit of pampering, bit of shopping, bit of cinemaring, all followed by a bit of dinnering and pubbling with @superbreeze.bsky.social

Stay with me, Jason Statham vehicle The Bank Job is a GREAT heist film. Just watched it for the third time and it gets better each time.

Here's my extremely hot take on the AI doll thing.

It's not that deep, stop getting annoyed at other people having a bit of fun.

(yes I'm aware of the other issues, no need to let me know about those thanks)

Up in Scouseland tonight for the Liverpool Indie Awards where my short script 'The Estate' was nominated for Best Screenplay. Didn't win but extremely happy to be here, especially as my short script was up against a bunch of full length feature scripts.

Must remember to watch the second part of series 7 of #Outlander. Had a stark reminder to do that earlier this morning by the sight of Jamie Fraser standing 2 feet away from me at Euston station.

Yes I did just use my hairdryer on a pack of frozen potato wedges because I'd forgotten to take them out of the freezer this morning.

Follow me for more culinary hacks.

Sometimes I dream about having this level of chutzpah.
customer comes up to the counter, points to the plug socket at the back and asks if it would be ok if they plugged something in. fine I say, assuming phone charger or bike light or similar. instead they produce a small portable hob and begin cooking the rachel roddy pasta with peas, cream & parmesan

These commercial DNA tests have been a lifeline to some of us who have no other recourse to knowing who we are. It's a sign of privilege if you don't need to use them.
i would like to remind everyone who deplores the use of services like 23andMe that there exist people with hidden or secret parentage, including donor-conceived people and #adopted people like myself, for whom these services may be their *only* access to the truth to which they have a human right.
23andMe is going under. Californians have the right to delete their genetic data before it's turned over to next party buying the assets. If you have a 23andMe account, go log in to download whatever reports you want to save, then follow these instructions to delete your data.

Ventured over to East London today for (vegan) pie, mash and liquor at the famous G Kelly pie shop. What an absolute delight although felt 100% too northern to be in there.
