Excellent news.

My doc wanted me to get it but RSA currently doesn't have any on the approved list, so trying to get it into the country is a nightmare.

Mike Johnson does seem to be purposely putting himself out of a job, and taking the rest of Congress with him.

As eliminating Congress does appear to be the goal here.

My feelings re: Bernie are complicated.

But I do enjoy the way he always seems to look at AOC like a proud G'pa.

He isn't being creepy, leery, or condescending. He appears to truly admire the woman she is and what she is doing.

Nobody believed I was in labour at the hospital because I apparently did not behave like a woman in labour should.

My water had broken.

There were other signs.

I told them I was.

But my behaviour was "incorrect."

Too calm.

So I gave birth in a random room, not in labour & delivery.

If the tech is flawed, then there should always be an easily accessible human being to interact with that can override it when required.

I also battled with ID.me - took a ridiculous amount of makeup before the bot acknowledged my existence.

Incredibly glitchy and dangerous systems.

I've struggled w/ facial recognition & I don't have any facial differences. Just really pale - the software: "Please place your face in front of the camera," & I'm right there...

So I have to smother myself with makeup.
Have huge sympathy for those who can't "fix" the tech glitch so easily.

Okay, that is simplifying the story.

It was many things, including showing how animals impact communities(good and not so great) and parents relying too heavily on first born daughters while letting sons “just be kids” and so much more.

But…”burden”. Gah.

And yet, the number of arguments I have had with people on this matter.

I have even had an op-ed attached to a story I wrote about the “burden” of having disabled family.

The point of the story was to show that gov services had too long of waiting lists & many supports/tools are expensive.

The only thing age verification does is befuddle adults & increase data breaches.

Kids find workarounds.

Do I want kids interacting w/ AI erotic slop? No.

But kids can find a workaround for parental controls or age verification systems.

I’ll never forget the kid that tweeted from the fridge.

Given the dominant profile of AI designers, they will fail to understand that while women and LGBTQI+ enjoy smut in all its varied glory, the framing is not the same as strait men’s p@rn.

As someone who has worked in the romance industry, things always go sideways when a straight man starts inserting his opinion.

Then you have to point out that’s a straight man fantasy & while women and LGBTQI+ fantasies know no boundaries, framing matters.

Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year

We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

Today in Portland, a fed shooting pepper balls from the roof of the ICE facility was so eager to aim for people’s heads, that after shooting one photographer in the head and another in the upper arm, they accidentally shot a DHS agent in the head. This photo shows the moment of impact;

I have had so much "WTF" done to me since 2000 that...I just can't get myself to do it.

So I am ghost-writing for low-paying projects. It isn't glamorous or anything to brag about...I'm having fun and no promo pressure or all the...soul crushing crap.
