King&Conquerer. So frustrating an amazing opportunity to do something great, ruined by needless historical in-accuracies & pointless re writing of events (a la the dross that was 'Napoleon')

Re watching 'Vikings'. It hits differently after reading Neil Price's brilliant book 'Children of Ash and Elm' and Cat Jarman's fab works.
Certainly don't remember Uppsala having so many waterfalls on my visit last year 😅

@jamesjhistory.bsky.social only just caught up on the Q&A episode. I can confirm my question regarding dream flights was meant as "in peacetime"! As much as I'd love any Mossie flight through the Norwegian Fjords, being pursued by any Me109, 110 or Fw190s maybe less dream flight, more night terror!

Saw Gladiator II. It's... Mostly enjoyable. Certainly entertaining, but some aspects seem totally unnecessary (no spoilers, but certain animals in the coliseum battle of Salamis scene🥴🤨 ikyk)
Scott isn't redeemed from the shambles of Napoleon but G2 isn't a complete horror show. Just my opinion.

Genuinely loving people's enthusiasm and engagement on BlueSky so far. It feels how social media used to and should still be. Maybe I just got 'old' at 34 and disillusioned, but this seems like a glimmer of hope in a pretty dark world right now.
