ICE in Burnsville, MN followed a family home, broke down their door, and abducted 4 of them at gunpoint including the parents of a 7 year old and the husband of a pregnant woman. All of this occurred without a warrant for a home owned by a US citizen. (12/6/25)

Atwood gave a reading at my grad school in the late '80s--sh read from Cat's Eye, but in the Q&A most of the questions were about The Handmaid's Tale. At one point, she recommended only using cash to pay for things, that They can track credit cards, ATM use. How very paranoid of her, I thought.
Turns out that “The Handmaid’s Tale” was meant as a cautionary tale, not a freakin’ handbook.

The new requisites are a B- average and having the right connections.
