I have a theory that if someone is presenting a product or concept and they use the phrase "mindset" then it is likely bullshit.

Kingdoms of the Dump is one of the year's most charming RPGs, an Earthbound-inspired game set in a world made of trash, where you fight in landfills and heal with moldy sandwiches. Which is fitting — it was made by two janitors.

@kingdomsofthedump.bsky.social fellas, best of luck for the launch tomorrow! I have read every sanitation report since 2019 and I can't wait to play it. Tomorrow also happens to be bin day where I live, so I congratulate you on the level of immersion already.

As predicted, now a mad dash to round off the year. The last thing I read was pretty philosophical and abstract so I really need three nice, entertaining easy reads.

I think Valve like to check my employment status each time they do a major hardware release. I suspect my unemployment perfectly correlates. Thankfully I’ve a bit of time before they drop these boys on us.

99.9% of the time Neo sits on Shannon but tonight he sat on my lap during bake off and I loved every minute of it.

My brain has taken a 5 year hiatus from progressive metal and all of the sudden I am back. Perhaps it is just the best thing to have on when you are writing.

This year has been truly devastating to my mental health. I see it like bad weather passing and I’m hoping I am becoming stronger and more tolerant of the shit, but also it just feels like entropy. I’m lucky I have what I have, and hopefully everything will get better soon.

I’ve decided I’ve done my last lesson of Duolingo for a while. I think the design is good for the most part but it is let down by some particularly tedious exercises and the one size fits all progression rate. I feel no progress, no compulsion to continue. 466 days and that’s all for now.

The Blackmagic camera app automatically copying video to a network store (skipping iCloud) is such a game changer. If you're filming in your house there's virtually no capacity limit and with fast networking the clips can be dragged straight into Resolve for editing. And that's for free!? Amazing.

Here we have a nice monitor-top DSLR mount for speaking to the camera while making. You can see the cutaway where I was ready to press print and realised the plate would block the battery door. It's designed to slot in at the top of a VESA 100 mount with some slightly longer M4 screws and washers.

Have been converting from Fusion 360 to Onshape and made some great progress this evening. I'm going to do some local workshops on parametric design and my attendees not having to download and install a huge application is why I am switching.

Really want to get Dying Light The Beast but I’m in money saving mode so I guess tonight I might either make something or play Warzone!

Rigged up a character in Blender for UE5 and got crouching animations working. It is so much more immersive than a floating camera with no limbs 😍 Thanks to this tut by MizzoFrizzo, who also packaged the animations I am using www.youtube.com/watch?v=qV-s...
