Finally finished my art piece for Magic the Gathering × Final Fantasy; my first ever serious piece!

Can you name all the Legendary Weapons I've included?

NYCC had me realise that there isn't really a Marvel guy I'm terribly invested in. So to rectify that, I'm reading up on Ant-Man, starting with the Scott Lang era.

Wild that no one seems to refer to the Hulk by his lesser known allias these days...

I also just realised that Ashe is a rebel, so she might see play in a Rebel shell if Avatar Rebel support takes off.

I think she's just a solid mono white card. Mono white already carries a higher density of artifacts than most colours, so its effectively repeatable card draw.

I think he was also one of the most unfortunate completed walkers to complete from a pure writing potential.

They didnt seem to know what to do with Lukka anymore, so this felt like simply a convenient way to write him out of the story. There's a reason he and Tibalt are the only true PW casualties

If they were going to do Lukka anyway; it might have served well to have him be the first.

We could've had a whole arc about how being completed gave Lukka a sense of purpose and belonging that he craves. And dive into how insidious Phyreixa's influence can be to prey on such vulnerabilities.

Stuff like this makes the set feel like it was made with heart; and that makes it hard to be upset about tbh.

This set will almost certainly do better than Spider-Man

Splinter in black is probably more a product of what he is rather than who he is. Both Ninjas and Rats are black aligned. So it does make sense for the master ninja to be black aligned.

And as one of the colours centred in self-interest/ identity, black can work for a mentor figure like Splinter.

Tbf I only had Raph as black because I fr forgot that we could use Splinter to fill in the fifth colour.

I admittedly dont have my ear to the ground on TMNT, but Mikey feels the most green; he's carefree, relaxed and (generally?) undisciplined. While he could be red, he feels mainly green to me.

One understated thing that I appreciate is the restraint to only give us one commander deck.

A commander deck where you can play all the turtles is all you realistically need anyway.

Fans of other characters will undoubtedly get a card they can build around in the main set.
